I once challenged my kids in m y youth group to "fast" from TV for a month. It was the month of May during all the "sweeps" programing. I had three students actually take me up on it and they all said the same thing. It was hard, one even gave up during the month, but they also found that they had a lot more time to do other things they liked and, while they havent banned TV from their lives altogether, it gave them a great perspective to judge how "addicted" to TV t hey can become and it helps them limit or choose the programing they watch more carefuly.
Me, I usually watch sports (Reds in the summer and Colts in the Winter along with a little college basketball) I also like to watch Shows off of the History or Discovery Channel or National Geographic.
The only regular show that I watch often is CSI (the original, I dont watch the other two), I also tend to watch House on reruns but now they have started to repeat the shows so I dont even watch that any more. but I still haven seent he episode where Cutner commits suicide so I still have this gaping hole in my "House" timeline. grrrr.
So every week I usually watch 1 hour of guarranteed programming and then anywhere from 0-12 more aditional hours depending upon how many Reds games or interesting History/discovery/nat geo chalnnel show are on.
