WOMEN II - Community Project - SUBMIT YOUR IDEAS!!!
« on: August 23, 2013, 07:51:36 PM »

Along with Master KChief I would like to announce the start of a brand new community project.

How will this work? Refer to this link and PM me your ideas for any or all of the cards listed. It's that simple. I need someone to volunteer who is a top notch player and knows the game inside and out to review the cards. There aren't very many cards in the original expansion so this shouldn't take too long.

BE ORIGINAL, BE REALISTIC.

Suggestions are welcome for the direction of the project. Thanks to MKChief for the idea!

Do these have to be remakes of original Womens cards or can they be all new?

I'd review cards if you sent them to me, or if you post them. I have other (non-Redemption) projects that take up some of my time, but if want to PM me some ideas, I can give pointers or ideas on how to improve/balance cards (by improve I don't necessarily mean make more powerful, I probably mean improve wording, or make abilities more interesting or more thematic)

I do know the game fairly well, and I've had a decent track record for my own designs (although they are few and far between) I've been playing the game for almost a decade... which I admit, is somewhat surprising. I play almost exclusively Type 2, so I would be glad to review cards from that perspective. I've never placed at a tournament larger than the Manitoba "State", but I am one of the top players in the Manitoba playgroup.

I do want to get more involved with the Redemption community and eventually become a playtester.
If you are reading this signature, thank a physicist.

Just for a guid are you developing any new theams or focusing on padding theams as the "what's needed" thread was talking about.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

I'm always happy to help with new card ideas. :D

Daniel: Did we want to take the women from our current project and use them for this instead? I think we could still have enough for that one while taking the few female-oriented cards out for this set.

Daniel, Would it be possible to send you all the info for my ideas and then have you create the actual card?  My computer is down right now and I don't have access to the card creator from lambo.  Would that be possible? I really want to participate in this!

I've been making some from our other project with Lambo's card creator, do you want me to refrain from that so you can make them? lol

I'd have to re-collect some of the art I've found but I'm fine either way.

I posted a Jael reprint in a separate thread because it has a new special ability idea I wanted feedback on.

Also Daniel, I like your card maker a little better (I like not having the black border around the edge and it's a little smaller lol) so I think I'll let you make them from here on out.

I'm wondering the reasoning behind Deborah being Warrior-Class (and also why you made her 10/10, lol). Did she actually fight in the battles? I'm not super familiar with the story but I thought she just tagged along.

Deborah actually led a successful counteroffensive against the forces of Jabin (King of Canaan) and his military commander Sisera (See Judges Ch 4).  That makes Deborah a warrior class prophetess and judge (Daniel you may want gold/green brigade then?).  I also think that there is a significant relationship between her and Jael.  That is for the next narrator to expound.

Would you like me to change those things in my program when I update it next?

Only if you want to, I hate being nitpicky lol. The black I don't mind as much as the size of the cards created. If you're putting more than 1 or 2 in a single post it stretches it really far.

So if you WANT to update it feel free but don't feel like you have to. :P
