Earlier this year I was inspired by fellow board member Platinum_Angel to play with the layout of Redemption cards. You can see a couple examples here.

I'd like to see what kind of card layout ideas the Redemption community can come up with. To provide some incentive I'm going to mail the winner of this contest one free card pack of Thesaurus ex Preteritus when it's released!

Here are the rules:

All submissions must be remakes of original Redemption cards. Brigade, abilities and stats stay the same. You may use alternate art or the original art. The idea is to see what you can do with the card layout. Sorry, no new cards ideas for this contest.

I would really like to see your ideas but understand that not everyone has photoshop. Please leave a message here if you'd like help from one of the many talented graphic artists on these boards.***

Limit of 2 entries per participant.

Minimum of 5 participants required before a Thesaurus ex Preteritus card pack will be awarded.
If there are 10 or more participants I'll give away 2 packs of TexP! (one to each of the top 2 vote getters)

All entries must be received prior to the first day of Nationals.

When you complete your image, send me a link to (or copy of) the image. Do not post the image here. After the deadline I will post the images for board members to vote on the best design.

***For those with photoshop talent - I'm willing to send a card pack of Thesaurus ex Preteritus to you if you assist someone with their winning card design!

So, does this mean we can totally remix the layout as we want... meaning if I wanted to put the */* outside of the brigade box, I could?

Also, do you want us to keep the same imagery, or can we remake the icons as we see fit?

Yes, you're welcome to submit a description or explanation with your card.

Also, feel free to mix up the layout any way you see fit. Put the */* outside the brigade box, remake icons, whatever kind of crazy cool ideas you can come up with!

The same information is required. If by "size" you mean, does it have to fit within the layout of a current Redemption card, then yes. If you're talking about the size of your picture then it doesn't matter quite as much as long as it's large enough to appreciate your work.

I just wanted to say that I'm really excited for this contest, and I already have something worked out on paper. That's a really long deadline though - a month and a half. In that time I'll probably have ten ideas come and go... I better start making this one tonight!

Quick question...

can we go ahead and work out ALL of the design aspects, and submit an image with all the different icons, borders, whatever... so you can imaging what every other card would look like? If we're limited to only 2 cards, I could only show off two icons out of at least eleven. That image obviously wouldnt be an entry, but it'd help show off our design.

I'd love to see a template or whatever showing how your idea(s) apply across all card types. I can only post two cards for the contest but afterwards I'm sure people will want to see how your design applies to other cards.

I'm not going to be really picky about how the SA. You can use the original, errata or play as. You're even welcome to shorten an SA if it has old verbage. For example "cannot be interrupted, negated or prevented" could simply be shortened to "cannot be negated".

We only need two more contestants to meet the minimum of 5 and make this contest legit, although I'd like to see a lot more!! You've got just under a month left to get those ideas in!

If anyone has an awesome idea but doesn't have photoshop/doesn't know how to use it well, I'd love to help them out. My photoshop abilities are not professional, but I can make a near-perfect redemption card given enough time.

I also might submit my own, but I'm stuck in the creative stage.
