Solomon’s wives – Gold Evil Character
11/X

X = The combined starting strength of all male heroes in battle + 1.

Prov.31:3 – “Do not give your strength to women, or your ways to that which destroys kings.”
Also 1 Kings 11:2-3

Origin.  We can debate whether or not Solomon fell away, but no one would deny that he could not overcome the temptation that his wives posed to him without help (enhancements in this game). 11 Strength because that is the toughness of King Solomon.  Gold evil because Solomon's first wife was Egyptian, but I'm not partial to a particular color.  I think gold could use some help though.  (And I love that passage in Proverbs too!)

Strategy.  Basically just a card to give some trouble to FBTN.  It would require a hero enhancement to tip the scales.

Thanks for reading!

It's a nice idea to start with, but it needs more for people to want to play with it. Maybe say something like "negate the special ability of a royal character in battle," for starters.

We see so many banding chains up here in VA that "as is" this would be in most decks up here, especially if already playing evil gold.  But I didn't want to make it overpowered.

Also, I don't want to make a card that EVERYONE will want to use (like if I had just made her "Immune to male heroes" instead).  I think we have enough of those already :)

For starters, Cannot be Negated is superfluous, as if this card were printed, X=... would be an identifier (a real one, not an abilifier). Currently, then, there is no SA. I think something like: "No good King may rescue a Lost Soul this turn if Solomon's Wives are not discarded this battle." That way, your King would have to actually get rid of them, besides just ignoring/withdrawing/converting/etc. them. I think it would make for an interesting card.

Yes, I couldn't remember the rules on X.  You are correct about the CBN part, so I will remove it.  As far as a special ability like you describe, I wouldn't mind making it more powerful, but I'm trying to avoid making anything TOO powerful.

Convert one king in play to a gold brigade ec. This character may band to any character it has converted.

I like this much. It can convert EC's, too. :3

Sorry, this post was a month ago, but I was wondering if instead of the + 1, it could say "Solomon's Wives has first strike ability.  Cannot be negated."

I think first strike is overrated, unless it is in a FBTN battle and the first strike CBN. I think it should be:

May convert one King (except rescuing hero) to Gold Brigade evil for this battle. Solomon's wives may band to that King. Abilities on good Kings are negated this turn.
And the Lord will descend with a SHOUT, with the VOICE of the Archangel, and the TRUMPET of God.
