"You may choose to protect your characters from being brought into battle by an opponent. Protect your cards in play, set-aside, hand, deck, and discard pile from opponents' protect abilities."
Art, reference, etc. would all be the same, this would just be a straight reprint with a reworded ability to work against Goliath (it might need to be reworked, but you get the idea) and a little extra incentive to use the card.
-
I don't know how well an optional protect would work. When would you choose to use the protect - before or after Goliath blocks? Can you choose to protect one character and not another? How about something like, "If your character would be brought into battle by an opponent, you may refuse*. Protect hand from opponents."
*"Refuse" being shorthand for "choose not to do so instead".

Not sure how I feel about it yet, but this would definitely be more interesting in multiplayer as well. "Oh, you have Gomer, and I have KoT? And that guy has 3 already...I decline to use Wall :D"
However, I think this would get a little funky with targeting, and what happens if I target your character when you have Wall and you decline, can I still band to one of mine?
-
I like the way BubbleBoy put it. I just realized that the other ability is probably worse than I thought. I'd intended it as anti-Nazareth tech, but looking at it now, I don't think I'd use it because sometimes getting protection from an opponent (like from Tassels or Lampstand) is a very good thing. Maybe just change to "Protect hand and deck from opponent"?

I'm pretty sure that would be a no. You use your ability to try to band to me, I say no thanks, the end. I think that's consistent with other "no re-targeting" rules, but then again, I'm fat and stupid, so don't take my word for it. :P
Intuitively, it would seem strange to have a character going "Could I band to you? Oh, okay. Could I band to you? Oh, I see, you're busy, no problem..."
-
So it would have to be a beta, forever alone type character... Jonah?

Naz doesn't need a tech. Naz is a tech. If you hate Naz so much use one of the plethora Site Killing cards.

CP to the face.

It would work better if you took out the second protecting ability, but otherwise I would use wall of protection this way if they made a reprint

My way to stop Nazzy...
"Interrupt Sites, Burn Opponents' Nazereth. Cannot be Negated."
I'd like this card!
-
"Protect your characters in territory from being brought into battle by an opponent. Once per turn, you may negate this ability. Protect your hand and deck from opponents' cards."
-
We already have that card, it's call Wall of Protection.
I like the idea, for the most part.

That's why the title says Wall of Protection reprint.
-
Oops, I thought it said it was a Jerusalem Tower reprint. My bad.

"Protect your characters in territory from being brought into battle by an opponent. Once per turn, you may negate this ability. Protect your hand and deck from opponents' cards."
That wouldn't work, because if an ability has already fired, it's too late to not have your characters targeted.
"If your character would be brought into battle by an opponent, you may do nothing instead..."

I agree w/ Pol.
I Do like my Anti-Nazzy card.
