Title: The Bronze Sea
Post by: jesse on March 03, 2016, 10:35:56 AM
The Bronze Sea
Temple artifact
1 Kings 7:23-27

Holds 1 good enhancement

Place a good enhancement on this artifact to set it aside for 1 turn.  Enhancement held here may be played as if from hand and cannot be negated.

(Explanation: The bronze sea was the Solomon's Temple upgrade of the smaller, portable bronze laver of the tabernacle. The laver was used for the priests to wash their hands before carrying out their duties, whereas the sea was for washing sacrifices and offerings before they were used. The idea is that a non-CBN enhancement can become CBN by being "purified", although another thought is that the enhancement can become able to be used regardless of brigade...or I'd love to hear any other ideas you guys have!)

That's a good idea, but I feel that with no limitations, it could be very easily abused. Cool idea though!

Thanks! Yes it's sort of like Faith in Our High Priest except for all good enhancements. I was thinking it could be a way for good enhancements from older sets, which tend to have less CBP/CBI, to see more play.

i mean, you could have some thing with a conditional cbn and then its cbn all the time. plus, theres a lot of cards that can recur enhancements, so you could potentially have a constant stream of cbn battle winners. ex: use Disciples Gabriel and get out Magnificat, and boom, cbn battle winner that can be recurred easily. Just my opinion though, i think it could be pretty good if there was a limitation on it like "may be used twice per game" or something.

Good point! I was thinking that the 1 turn set aside would temper its strength but perhaps a different ability would be better, such as "once per turn, you may shuffle a good enhancement from your discard pile" or the other original idea of making the good enhancement rainbow colored. I'm not sure - I just learned about the bronze sea and thought it would be cool as an artifact in Redemption!

I do agree that it should totally be a card, cause its a really cool idea!
