As such his work is in the public domain. It's not at all uncommon for businesses and websites to offer PD pieces for a premium cost. I don't speak whatever language is used on the website you linked, but I've seen enough like it to assume that is what they are doing. I have no concerns about using the Pier piece on Rapha or another card.

i love the classical art. i used to love the comic like artwork, but the classic art has become my favorite. it's so holy looking and epic- like the Bronzinoit really is priceless.. thankful we can use it as public domain
