Title: Someone has already thought of this, right?
Post by: stefferweffer on May 07, 2010, 02:26:42 PM
A good enhancement, probably Red, about training soldiers.

"Set non-warrior-class hero aside for two turns.  Hero returns to play as a Warrior-class hero for the remainder of the game."

Surely someone has thought of this by now, but I'm curious why it was never made.

You could probably do one for evil characters too, but I wouldn't know what color to make it, because there are so many military empires to choose from.

Yes, it has been thought of before, I think John Michalwhatshisname (Faithraider) came up with the idea of a Fortress that you could place a Hero in for a certain number of turns.

I suppose the reason could be that there would be some combos that might get a little crazy. Imagine a WC Jephthah discarding two of your EC's and the top card of your deck when holding Warrior's Spear? And that doesn't even get into any convoluted combo that someone would surely come up with.

That said, I still would not be at all surprised if such a card were eventually made.

Yeah, I was thinking of a warrior-class Paul :)

Because we really need a multicolored new testament hero who enhancements can be negated, that is a green brigade prophet and can hold Helmet of Brass.  (and thats just off the top of my head)

That's why I think a set aside is better than a fortress, although either is fine if they take several turns.  Yes, Paul can be made nigh unstoppable, but it takes hima while to get there.

If someone can't rescue enough lost souls to win against 7 + turns of the opponent not even making a rescue attempt, then someone's offense needs work, right?  This alone does not seem like enough reason to not make the card.  Frankly with Abom decks out there now Heroless could use some help anyway, I would think.

But then again I could be way wrong.  It just seemd we had set asides for so many other things, it seemed silly to not have this yet.

The best card of this type would be something like:

Saul's Tent
Good Fortress
-Holds one O.T. Male Human Hero-
"During your preparation phase, you may reveal a weapon of matching brigade from hand to make a Hero here Warrior Class and release to territory."
