That's correct. So, for example, Grumbling People would increase 1/1 for each other brown evil character you control when they enter battle, but only during that battle. Philippians would increase 1/1 for each of your clay heroes (if played as a hero) or gray evil characters (if played as an evil character).

Philippians should be Black and Greek ("Colony" doesn't mean there what we normally think of it meaning, and Macedonia is Greece).
Otherwise, these are totally fantastic! Love the new mechanics and the candle is another great way to enable strategic deck building without having to bow the knee to the cruel mistress of hand clog.
