Some interesting ideas...

Well here's a couple cards I thought of that are a lot different that most Redemption abilities.

Good Fortress
During the start of your preparation phase, you may discard 2 cards to roll a die. Apply the appropriate abilities:
1-2: Discard an evil card in play or set aside
3-4: Draw 3 cards
5-6: Discard one card at random from your opponent's hand.

Gray Evil Character
10/12, Warrior Class
When this card is discarded from play, set it aside. During a battle in which you have a blocking evil character and initiative, add this card to battle and discard a good enhancement.

Evil Fortress
Each turn, if you have 2 or more ls not in sites in your land of bondage, you may search discard pile for a generic evil character.

The second one doesn't work.

Yeah, there's no way you can have anything active in the discard pile. Even if it's an abilifier.

Third card is broken. Although I like the idea of being able to skip drawing, it would get out of hand. I simply wouldn't draw again after I got Son of God and the Shuffler, and then I'd win because you can't rescue anything if I don't draw anything. I'd merely discard the character I got back every turn.

You can't make anything that could make the second one work? There's just no mechanic for that? What a shame.

Yeah... I didn't think about that. I'll change it slightly.

I would make it limited use rather than have such a high cost. Discarding 2 cards (from hand i assume?) might be worth it if I could choose which ability to use, but if I don't know what I'm getting, I usually won't want to give up 2 cards.

Gray Evil Character
10/12, Warrior Class
If you have an evil character in battle and have initiative, you may remove all other cards in your discard pile (minimum 5) to add this card from your discard pile to the battle. Then, discard a good enhancement in play.
I like it, but I think the d/c an enhancement part is a bit much.

Evil Fortress
During your draw phase each turn, you may choose to add an evil character of */* greater than 6/6 from your discard pile to your hand instead of drawing 3 cards.
I would word it, "Each turn, you may skip your draw phase to search discard pile for a generic EC," just to keep it simple and less wordy.

Bubbleboy, Evil Fortress changed for your wording, plus RingWraith's limitation suggestion.

You wouldn't use the good fortress? I'd put it in almost any offensive deck. Discarding 2 cards to draw 3 isn't bad, and I think the other two abilities are almost always worth it. I was worried it might be a little too powerful. =)

Well apparently the ec doesn't work anyways, but thanks for the suggestion. It couldn't negate, and I didn't know territory class enhancements were that popular or powerful.

To make the character work, just have an identifier that says it works when its in the discard pile, something like:

"Male, Human, This characters ability can only be activated from the discard pile"

Identifiers work in the discard pile, my characters don't lose their humanity if they are in the discard pile or cease being generic after they are discarded.

I love the evil fortress, although it may be overpowered, I would put a limit or put a cost, or at least consider it.
If you are reading this signature, thank a physicist.

Abilifiers don't work in the discard pile or draw pile. Otherwise, I could activate Lampstand on my Temple that I haven't drawn or is discarded.
Identifiers tell what a card IS (such as male, human, babylonian...the unchangable things). That would not be an identifier.

I agree that it'd be cool to have an abilifier work from discard pile, but I don't know a way which it could be done. Draw pile would never work, since there's no way to prove it's in your deck...

Make part of the ability that when this card is to be discarded set it aside and have the ability only active when its set aside.

For the EC, I think it would need to be an instead in order to work still. Interesting ideas overall, though.

Yea, u need to say "Set this Card Aside instead."

I personally wouldn't use the Good Fort, because I hate having to discard cards from hand. But that's just me.  Also, u have to define where ur discarding from, or else anyone can discard 2 cards from anywhere.

I do like the Evil Fort though, It looks fun!
They seem pretty lame as fighters maybe we should challenge them to a dance off or a redemption game
