Title: Paul cards
Post by: hi123 on June 23, 2012, 10:06:26 AM
Blinding Light: 0/0 TC enhancement. Multicolored. Search deck for Saul and set him aside for one turn. On return, he is converted to Paul and may Negate one ability on one evil character. If Paul is about to be discarded, discard this card instead and decrease his numbers by 1/1 each turn.

Timothy: White, Purple.  May band to Paul or choose the evil character to block. If Paul is being discarded, Set Timothy aside for three turns instead.    Untill Paul has made a succesful rescue attempt.

-- Not sure if Blinding light has too much power.. When I say " On return, he is converted to Paul he can negate an ability on a EC, thats only a once-per-game ability.

I'd say let blinding light do the search, set aside, covert and have that be all but make it search discard pile as well.

Timothy needs a rewrite. Right now he can choose one of your own evil characters every battle and you don't need the word "about." The extra word just makes it confusing. I really like Timothy though. He would be fun to play with.

With a little work these could make Paul much more playable and I like the thought on Timothy a lot.

That would be a sweet combo and potentially with the right build a 2 hero deck!

I've been working on a suggestion to have 'If Discarded' be the same as 'If this card is about to be Discarded' and I think that's pretty much what it currently is, (looking at Assyrian Survivor there) also, if you want an effect to be once per game, the card has to mention that.

Don't see why the change to "If discarded" would be a bad thing at all

Means the same thing in a much more concise way.

Timothy is overpowered, as originally written.  White/Purple already have a lot of NT synergy, including another White/Purple hero (Faithful Servant).

Honestly, a single-color hero that can choose the blocker each attack with no other abilities is overpowered.  Do you have a scriptural backing for making Timothy choose blockers?

No, I dont. I will make him not be able to do that.

Paul should say, "regardless of being removed from play, Saul/Paul cannot be converted back to an EC" in addition to his regular ability.

That would make the card to wordy and also wouldn't make that much sense, especially since not much would affect him in the Discard Pile and when he hits Deck he'll still reset.

I agree. I dont want an enhancement to be over complicated. The reason I made that card is because I havent seen a Paul deck in a longg time! In my opinion, it is just like wheel within a wheel and Isaiahs Call except its just for Paul.

[/quote]  -- Changed Timothy's ability, is it better than setting him aside for three turns? I think it makes a little more sense.
