Only 2 Evil Altars? Clearly not enough

Altar for Sin
Artifact
If opponent begins a rescue attempt and has harmed one of your evil characters this turn, you may activate the contents of this artifact on an evil character in your territory. That enhancement may select targets regardless of protection, ignore, or immunity. May be used twice.
-holds one face down evil enhancement-, Evil Altar
Hosea 8:11
Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.

The basic idea is that if I get preblock ignored, I should be able to fight back in the battle somehow to make it less one sided. I also wanted to make a card that would cause people to think before they mindlessly spam territory destruction cards.

it would only be used with worshipping demons or great image and then a martyr.
good idea though.
and aren't there 3 idols
ashterah pole,
golden calf,
altar of dagon?

There is more than enough stuff combating pre block ignore. People just like to complain because they don't want to put any counters into their deck.

Reg list of Idols, also this artifact is an evil altar.

Altar of Dagon (Pa), Asherah Pole (Ki), Captured Ark (P), Golden Calf (H), Household Idols (Ap), Jacob Buries the Foreign Gods (RA), Jeroboam's Idolatry (RA), Unknown Nation (Pi)

In responce to OP, I don't think you're considering the entirety of the cost. It relys 100% on your opponent doing something, and you can't normally play the enhancement while it's activated on this artifact. It would also add some level of strategy, because you could put some enhancement like philosophy face down and bluff your way into not having your territory destroyed.

It doesn't just counter preblock ignore, it makes people think before they use territory destruction, rather than just protecting from it.

There are only 2 Evil Altars (Altar of Dagon and Altar of Ahaz), and only 3 Idols (Household Idols, Asherah Pole, Golden Calf). The other cards on that list "depict" them, but are not actually idols or altars.

This doesn't counter only pre-block ignore, though. It also counters play first, and TC cards, or artifacts like Holy Grail.

Um, since when is ignoring "harming"?

Harm = Negative Effect
A negative effect is any effect from cards not of the same alignment (i.e., good, evil, or neutral) targeting a character.

Assuming we can trust the REG.

It's not. It's the territory destruction cards (Meeting the Messiah, Passover and Unleavened Bread, etc.) that are used to clear the way for TGT heroes that is harm.

That reg quote doesn't agree with you.

Based on Bryon's comments in other threads, I'm not sure we can trust anything anymore >_<

Pre-block ignore doesn't target anyone. It targets the battlefield. This was discussed a long time ago when it was ruled that the Color Guard LS in a Blue Site does not stop Zebulun from ignoring your EC's.

Why bother having a REG if almost everything in it doesn't apply to the real rules?
This is obnoxious.

That's a bit of an exaggeration, don't you think?

It's just aggrivating, I guess my expectations of the REG are too high when it isn't complete yet.
It's also frustrating that some rulings aren't easily excessible, so people have no knowledge about them.
