Title: NT Brown!
Post by: Ironisaac on June 23, 2017, 12:44:22 PM
In a bible study a few days ago, a thought came to me. Why are there no NT brown characters? I mean, there's angry mob and the new frog demons, but there are plenty of other characters that could be NT brown characters. So, i took a few characters that don't really fit into any theme and made them brown! Feedback welcome!

I really like the cards but thief on the cross is broken.  he completely stops SoG.  maybe if he underdecks SoG or set Him aside for 3 turns then returned Him to hand that would work

Yeah.. i was thinking he was too broken... oh well! I think underdeck would be a good enough cost.

But I agree that brown needs an NT theme (blue too) and you chose good characters for that brigade.  Do you have an idea for a unifying theme for NT brown?

The Lukewarm seems about right.

Isn't lukewarm grey? like isn't that the definition of the brigade is it is meant to represent the lukewarm?

When was the last time a card was made based off of the brigade descriptions?

Yes

if you are going to make a lukewarm theme, I believe it should still be in grey, where you already have many characters who converted (saul/paul, roman soldier, namaan) and Pontius Pilate

I really like these (especially The Redeemed Thief!!), although I agree The Thief on the Cross is OP. I hope NT Brown becomes a defense in future sets!

NT Gray is Pharisees and Romans. NT brown is non-existent. It's not good business to put a third theme (even a somewhat ad hoc theme) into a brigade with two instead of one with zero.

Honestly Gray doesn't need another theme, and honestly, lukewarm would be more of anti-conversion and making RA's ineffective.

As for the cards, I like them!

N.T. Brown feels more like the "Unrepentant" than the "Lukewarm," and that would parallel nice with the O.T. Brown theme of Rebellious Israelites.
