We need a new evil color. 8 good 7 evil. Any colors and themes for an idea. I was thinking tan but had no idea for a theme.
-
Tan could be the theme for lazy people or stupid(foolish) people. Most of them would come from the book of proverbs. hehe this would be the best theme ever!
-
gah no no more brigades kill it kill it now

I personally like new brigades. However, we must have themes to go with them. Right now I can't think of any nationalities mentioned in the Bible (at least extensively enough that a deck's worth of characters and enhancements could be made for them) which do not already have Redemption brigades assigned to them, so if we made a new brigade, it would have to be based on something other than that.
However, I must point out that the card designers have made it clear that they intend Redemption to be a game where good outweighs evil. The "extra" good brigade was made for a purpose, and if you want to make a new evil brigade, you will probably need to also make a new good brigade. (See: Priests & Demons)

if you look back to the A/B rulebook gray is called "lukewarm"

Lets think of Brigades and Themes for a moment.
Brigades with Dedicated themes:
Teal (Priests, OT and NT)
Silver (Angels, OT and NT)
Orange (Demons, OT and NT)
Brigades with a cross-Testament Theme:
Pale Green (Magicians)
Green (Prophets)
Red (Warriors)
Black (Greeks)
Brigades with an N.T. Theme:
White (Females)
Gold (Luke)
Purple (Disciples)
Crimson (Heretics)
Gold (Herods)
Grey (Pharisees, Romans)
Black (Sadducees)
Brigades with an O.T. Theme:
White (Musicians)
Gold (Judges)
Purple (Royalty)
Blue (Genesis)
Crimson (Babylonians)
Gold (Egyptians)
Grey (Syrians)
Black (Philistines)
Brown (Persians, Rulers of Israel/Judah)
Pale Green (Assyrians)
Brigades lacking an N.T. or Cross-Testament Theme:
Brown
Blue
Brigades lacking an O.T. or Christ-Testament Theme:
Chris Bany's banding ability Cannot be Negated if 'Without Pants' is placed on Eric Largent.
Themes to be used:
Deacons
Early Church
Merchants
Deacons/Early Church will probably go Blue, and Merchants could be a Brown N.T. or Cross-Testament theme. This would leave every Brigade with either a dedicated theme, a cross-Brigade theme, or an N.T. and an O.T. theme. The challenge in making new brigades lies in finding a Good theme and an Evil theme that have enough presence in the Bible to justify a whole new Brigade. Personally, I don't see where you'd be able to find that.

Tribes of Israel :)

I don't foresee any new evil brigades. We have enough to cover everyone:
Crimson:
Edomites (Micro theme. Edom means red. This theme hasn't started yet.)
Babylon
Sinful/traitorous/lying N.T. humans (includes Heretics)
Gold:
Egypt (huge, with multiple strategies. Genesis Egyptians don't do deck discard, but they do a lot of banding. Exodus Egyptians and later hit decks hard.)
Herods (currently shared with Crimson)
Pale Green:
a new micro-theme is coming ;)
Assyrians
Magicians (and false prophets?)
Black:
Canaanites (small theme: Lot's Wife and Daughters, Bera KoS, Sisera, )
Philistines (Currently shared with Crimson)
Greeks (micro-theme, since they are mostly between the testaments)
Sadducees
Brown:
Rebellious O.T. people from Israel (Large theme)
Rebellious O.T. people from Judah
Persians (small theme)
Amalekites (micro-theme)
Gray:
Moabites (micro-theme: Orpah, plus Balaam was hired by Moab)
Syrians (micro theme)
Pharisees
Romans
Orange:
Demons (HUGE theme. We haven't even touched Revelation yet.)
There just isn't another theme for evil that is large enough to warrant a new brigade.

Your post was a great summary of where things are at the moment. I'm looking at a list of cards for Genesis reprints into blue that is quite long, plus a decent list of characters we haven't touched. Plus, there are blue Genesis cards that could see some improvements someday (Sarah, Rebekah, Abram/Abraham, Seth, etc.). I think that Blue is pretty full for the future. I think Genesis and Job have it covered as far as available cards go. The trick is designing enough different subthemes (sons of Jacob, flood survivors, etc.) and strategies (hand discard, banding?, something new?) within blue Genesis that Blue Genesis offenses start to show a lot more diversity.
Where that leaves the early church, well, I have my hopes. ;)

Imo, one of the hardest things about making a new Brigade would be coming up with a usable colour XD

Shartruce
-
That spelling was so epicly fail it's almost a win.
-
I suggest an evil white brigade. The man has put me down for too long.
-
How about like a dark orange? Something about sunsets or something...that's the only thing I can think of that makes sense, unless we start using patterns. Or maybe a shiny Gold or Copper color...

Yeah late night posting ftl.

What if we did tax collectors or would that be too much like Pharisees or Sadducees.

I can't think of any except Matthew and Zachaeus, who are already Heroes. Definantly not enough characters for a new brigade.
-
Don't laugh. Maybe "dangerous animals" as a new "evil" theme ?
You've got several lions, Leviathan (who needs a better special ability IMO), a viper, the serpent, several bears, hornets, wolves, the behemoth, a "great fish", horses, dogs, dragons, leopard, locusts, spider, and maybe others I can't think of right now.
As we already know from using Leviathan occassionally, animals cannot be converted and cannot be trageted by anything that specifies "human" or "demon", so they'd have an innate resistance to a lot of good enhancements already. In other words, I'm not sure they'd have to be bolstred by a lot of evil enhancements.
Now how in the world you could icorporate them into a game that did not seriously plan on heroes being attacked/blocked by animals, who are not even really "evil", I have no idea! Just brainstorning about themes that we haven't really seen yet in Redemption.

better than shartruce

how about Navy Blue for Evil with Beasts and Animals as the theme? anyone?
-
A Cobalt animal brigade would probably never actually get printed, but it sounds super-fun so I'm going to start making card ideas for it :)

I like the copper idea! It would go well with a new tan. I still say we don't need any more birgade colors. Let's just work with the ones we already have.
-
I have to agree with that
-
There is always the idea of the plant theme. That one we have brought up more than once in our conversations. :)
