Title: New character ideas
Post by: Xonathan on April 06, 2016, 06:00:05 PM
Just some questions;:

Could there be another hero or heroes in the bible that can be multi colored?

Should the Persians kings like Darius, Cyrus, and Artaxerxes be dual alignment because of the things they did for the Jewish people?

If by multi colored you mean the "every brigade" icon I guess Noah could be a rainbow Hero. Too bad he's awesome already and doesn't need a reprint.  ::)

I assume by Multicolored you mean all brigades like Paul, so I'm going with that definition for the duration of this post.

There are a couple of options for Multicolored Heroes (although I admit that all of them work as less than fully multicolored). King David, Royalty (purple), Warrior (Red), Prophet (Green), Musician (White), while he's missing anything in particular to make him Blue, Gold, Teal, Silver or Clay, we could extend his already large list of Brigades along with his importance to the Biblical Narrative (being the primary named ancestor of Jesus for just one example) to justify being fully multicolored.

Another option is Moses, he actually has a similarly large list of brigades (although somewhat more arguable) that fit, Judge (Gold), Prophet (Green), Musician (White), Egyptian Royalty and Leader of Israel (yes I realize he gave up his Egyptian Royalty) (Purple), While not technically a Levitical Priest, he was about as close as one could get without actually being one (Teal). Plus being incredibly important to the Biblical Narrative in that he was the one God gave the Law to.

Abraham has a smaller list of obvious brigades (Blue, Red and Green is all I can think of), but again his importance as the Father of the nation of Israel and the recipient of a major series of covenants makes him a decent candidate.

Adam and Eve aren't bad candidates, one could argue Enoch wouldn't make a half bad candidate either. I'd argue that if the Proverbs 31 Godly Woman ever got a card, she's be a decent option, since apparently she could do everything.

And as for your second question, I agree that at least Cyrus should have a dull alignment card, and the others could make sense too.

I don't really know that anymore heroes should be rainbow-brigade, unless it's like a generic representation of a certain type/group of people (like Foreign Wives is for Evil Characters).

If Saul/Paul had been printed more recently I honestly think he would not have been printed rainbow just because the brigade breakdown in Apostles was, I believe, still more general and hadn't been refined into themes/strategies yet like it is now. That and there were 2 less good brigades that even existed, lol.

As far as dual-alignment characters, now that it's an established thing I think there are many characters that could conceivably be printed that way, if only for thematic reasons (if they started out as unbelievers but converted, etc.). I'm all for more options (and more thematically-fitting attributes!) so I wouldn't be opposed.

You're correct that it's actually only 2, I've fixed my post. I was remembering incorrectly which set premiered Silver.

I don't mind characters have 2 brigades, but any more, besides multicolor, should be saved for promos. Now dual alignment characters I would like more of, the two I can can best think of would be King Saul and Joab
