Cactus Game Design Message Boards

I'm still trying to figure out which direction to take the ability, and also not sure about the numbers. Trying to balance this card out is really difficult. If you have any feedback/comments or ideas on how to improve it, I would love to hear it! Thanks!

edit: I am thinking of adding the identifier: *cannot be targeted as a hero in discard pile.* This way it can be used as a dominant and then reused as a dominant off of The Second Coming, but can't be reused as a hero.

Alternative hero ability: Protect human heroes from discard and capture. May band to a NT human Hero. ((Cannot be negated?))

Not sure a Dominant/Hero is a combination we need yet.

However, I think it would be pretty sweet to have an alternate Angel of the Lord that converts an Evil Character instead of discarding it.

i would like to see it be able to be played as a hero with the option to be played as a dominant while it is a hero in battle to dc an ec and then it goes to dc pile. this is amazing.

Hmm, something like "May band to a Human Hero. Protect that hero from discard. Once per game, you may discard this hero to negate and discard an evil character." Or something to that effect, with it still being usable as a dominant without it first being a hero in battle? (however you'd word it). And if that's not powerful enough, we could add territory class to it

Here I bumped the defense down by 5, swapped the dominant ability from negate and discard to heal and convert (thanks for the suggestion Justin  ). Hero can now band to any human hero, not just NT and AotL is now territory class and protects the first human hero to enter battle from discard. You can also discard hero AotL to *negate and* discard an evil character, even while he isn't in battle, but only once per game (I accidentally missed out the *negate and* clause on the card ).

Yeah... That's what I was thinking... It's way to powerful, and potentially too easy to recur. I really like the concept, but the fact that you can recur it so easily makes it WAY to OP imo.

That would be awesome if we could have a dual dominant hero card!

The Angel of the Lord is Jesus, not sure I'm a fan of having another theophany in the game that can be blocked by a bear.

I did not know that. I thought the Angel of the Lord was just that: an angel. What scripture references does it say it in? I would like to read it (not saying you're wrong, I am intrigued).

It's not directly said, but when The Angel of the Lord (and the Captain of the Host) appear and people fall down worshiping them, they are not corrected. Every other angel immediately says some variation of "do not be afraid, and stop worshiping me." There are many, many other reasons we know this to be the case, but that's the most obvious one.
