I like it! Given his prominence in the Book of Daniel, I'm surprised that there hasn't been a King Darius printed yet...and it would be great to print a King Cryus too!
Why is he Crimson? The Darius from Daniel, if he existed at all, was a Mede. He was king of Babylon yes but was not Babylonian by heritage. Also the Medes were not the same people as Persians, so I doubt that Darius was both Median and Persian.
I agree with Hobbit as far as the civilization identifiers and brigades. Also, what does "extra cards" refer to? There is no definition for that in Redemption currently.Overall I think he's okay. His capture might be too strong even with discarding a card from deck. I like his hero ability a lot.
He's a pretty decent stand-alone character but a dedicated Daniel deck relies on having The Foretelling Angel which protects your deck from discard. That would make him not all that great of an Evil Character once TFA is out.
Brown would still be an ideal brigade from him because Medes and Persians are fairly similar ethnically. Like Goths and Visigoth or something. The point was, only, that he was Median and only Median, which is not to say that Medians can't share a brigade with Persians or have a similar abilities. The Identifier is slightly off. You will never have a decimal count for the amount of cards in your hand, only positive integer counts or zero. But, you would word cards like Sinning hand with "rounded down/up" when you are taking half of something and may get a decimal answer. The special ability is interesting to me because I feel like evil darius isn't strong enough and good darius is too powerful. You have let opponent play first and kill you and a walking acop. It's close though, I like the Hero ability on the evil character actually, with the modification of set aside in place of discard and a different condition for x, of course, like you had originally with the "extra cards". I don't really know what the hero ability could be, however, King Darius doesn't necessarily need to be split. He's fairly similar to Nebuchadnezzar.
