Title: John the Baptist
Post by: Warrior_Monk on October 23, 2009, 12:14:11 AM
John the Baptist
Green/Gold brigade, 7/4 (numbers really don't matter to me...)
Reveal the top 7 cards of your deck. If Son of God is revealed, you may place in hand. Any revealed lost souls are placed in your Land of Bondage. You may place the others in any order on the top of the draw pile. Cannot be Negated.
Prophet, Male, Human
Luke or John...

Super-under-powered.

Why would you play this?

I agree it is UP, but I still might play it. I run mainly white/green in my speed and I already have a million souls in my LOB all game, so a few more wouldn't hurt.

not everything has to be super powered these days, this could be a great way to introduce dual brigades into starter decks. I would love to have this in my speed. how many times do I have it where it's whoever gets Son of God first wins? many many times. plus dual brigades...

Choose The Blocker this = win :D

On second thought, super-over-powered. The SA is meh, but I didn't realize he was a White/Green Prophet. Hidden Treasures+White's ignore recursion is a disaster.

lol, I think he's fine. One character able to use HT with white cards isn't that bad, and he has a cost, too.

Might want to add what happens to all the other cards revealed (do they go back on top or go to the bottom).

How would this work? Are you referring to a different recursion combo than using the covs? Cause those only work once you're blocked.

Use the ignore, use Consider the Lilies, use the ignore, use LCF then He Is Risen to win the battle, use the ignore, use Moses and Elders then AotL to win the battle, then if you haven't won you're a schmuck.

changed it to Green/Gold. I didn't think of HT plus ignores.

Just curious, why six?

Also, I would add the ability to place the cards back in any order.

Really? I don't think this combo is quite as easy to pull off as you seem to think.

Have you played White a lot? You only have to wait a few turns to get all you need in your hand, typically.

burning incense pre-block is easy to pull off. i dont see why john/white ignore wouldnt be as well.

I had it as six because of Zeresh and Strength Revealed... no reason really. changed it to 7. and changed the order

zaresh and strength revealed are evil cards, and 6 is usually connotated towards evil in the bible, so that is why they are 6. 7 is usually connotated towards good, so thats why i thought 7 would be better.

I think I like it now...except I don't think it's necessary to put the lost souls in play. That's almost too big a cost.

nah, i think it fits the whole son of god/rescuing lost souls theme pretty well. besides, the card needs some kind of drawback because it can play any green or gold enhancement pre-block. :)
