Cool, I've always said that they needed a warrior class version of Joab.:)
I also like how his ability fits his personality

After a close reading of his story, I'm baffled as to why Joab is good and Abner is evil, but oh well.

I agree that Joab probably should have been evil but Abner..... not sure. He did some pretty bad stuff to.

Yeah, I also agree that Joab should've been bad, I guess thats why they made Adonijah.
