I also think that it is interesting how the market responded to Obama's announcement today.  My retirement fund got a boost today

If you see a tax cut as a "cost," then you and I see America VERY differently.  America is its people, not its government.

But maybe that's just politics, which will stay out of this thread.

Please include each on of Obama's stimulus plans including the 1 trillion dollars that he's using for the toxic assets.  The small business bail out, the housing bailout, and his soon to be announced budget that he has already stated would be in the trillions.  How does that compare with the Bush stats you listed? Additionally, add the cost of lives that Obama has authorized to kill via federally funded abortion.

umm, yeah, this thread is gonna get locked pretty soon.  this is why I hate arguing politics with people.  they often start vomiting rhetoric without substance

The trillion dollars was approved by Bush Jr. under his last term.  The buying of toxic assets was how they sold us the bill of goods, but then the Treasury Secretary ( which is just about as powerful as the Prez in certain areas, now due to this arrangement) pulled a bait and switch and decided to give the $$ directly to banks..hoping they would lend it to people...they did not so the bush legacy on this issue is basically giving banks money and having them stuff it under a mattress instead of re-investing it in the private sector

The Toxic debt idea has been revitalized by obama just today, but the number is not 1 trillion..it is 100 Billion.  ..Strike 1

Do you know what bushes budgets were?  since 2002 they have all been over 2 trillion dollars.  budgets arent the problem.  having the money to spend for your wants is the problem.  If we had a 5 trillion budget but had 6 trillion in income is that bad?  If you wanna complain, talk budget deficits, but then again the right hasn't had much luck selling the public on fiscal conservatism lately ...due to bush Jr.  ....strike 3

Way foul ball here bro.  Obama may support abortion, but he did not authorize it.  It has judicial and congressional support.  The president does not make the laws, they only enforce them as they see it within their consititutional ability to do so.  so dont try to hang millions of abortions on Obamas back.  This type of rhetoric does nothing to enhance the conversation and only enflames the problem, not to mention it is wrong and irresponsible.  Abortion is not one man's problem  it is the problem of a nation. ..sorry but the ump says ...your out!
