Title: Good beasts?
Post by: Ironisaac on May 18, 2016, 10:29:15 AM
I'm thinking of the four living creatures in Revelation. Could they be silver beasts? Or is beasts just for demons? Because i always understood beasts to be demons that took the form of animals in prophecy. the four living creature are angels taking forms of animals in a prophecy.

The Four Living Creatures are the Cherubim that Ezekiel was talking about. If you check the discriptions you'll notice they are the same. John just didn't know their angelic name because he wasn't a priest.

Here's the definition of Beast from the REG:

Quote
One possible role of a character (see Character’s Role and Gender) is beast. Beasts are non-human Evil Characters of demonic origin and non-human shape. All beasts are demons (but not all demons are beasts).

According to this:

The opposites of beast are "Mineral" and "Plant."

Sadly, I doubt we will ever see those classes.

Quote
Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:  “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” - Revelation 4:6-8

Quote
Also from within it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man. Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings. Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves’ feet. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze. The hands of a man were under their wings on their four sides; and each of the four had faces and wings. Their wings touched one another. The creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went straight forward. As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle. Thus were their faces. Their wings stretched upward; two wings of each one touched one another, and two covered their bodies. And each one went straight forward; they went wherever the spirit wanted to go, and they did not turn when they went. - Ezekiel 1:5-12

It seems from comparing the texts that the 4 Living Creatures of Revelation 4 that John saw were different beings than the creatures Ezekiel saw and called Cherubim in Ezekiel 10. The number of wings, description of their faces, and other details are different. That being said, I think that just as Redemption has already done with the Cherubim (and Seraphim from Isaiah 6), these are all likely to be different types of angels.

Seems more likely that they are the same viewed once from a 3-dimensional perspective in Ezekiel and once from a 7-dimensional perspective in Revelation.
