Isaiah
6/6 Green Hero
Unique Prophet
"May use any good enhancement with a prophetic reference.  Place one good enhancement under deck to search discard pile for a good enhancement with a prophetic reference."
Isaiah 1:1

Woe to Them!

2/2 Green Enhancement
Prophetic Reference
"Set aside a Green Brigade Prophets for two turns.  On return, you may select one evil character from opponents territory and reduce their abilities 0/8.
Isaiah 3:9

Dwell in the Midst of the Land
0/1 Green Enhancement
Prophetic Reference
"Place in opponents territory.  Each upkeep face, opponent must discard an OT Fortress or single color site.  When none remain, discard this card."
Isaiah 5:8

The Burning Coal
0/6 Green Enhancement
"Place this card on a Green Brigade Prophet in territory.  The next time this hero enters battle, protect him from evil discard abilities. Remove card from game after battle."
Isaiah 6:7

Jeremiah
5/2 Green Hero
Unique Prophet
"Discard a Green Brigade Enhancement to convert an O.T. Evil Character to a Green Bridge Hero.  May be used twice per game."
Jeremiah 1:1

I tried to use the recurring theme with the Prophets that Micah has and expand it.  Also, I tried to tie in the references as much as I possibly could.  I think Isaiah and Jeremiah needed to be beefed up a bit.  Isaiah's ability is pretty standard, but with Jeremiah, I gave him this ability because he was calling people to repentance.  I tried to keep it not overpowering, but let me know!  I am having fun trying to use Biblical Scripture to come up with cards and not just random abilities!  Thanks!

In Christ,

Bryan

Isaiah is WAY too good! They have enough recurence. But I like the rest of them, except for the other recur card.  :)

If you gave it a sort of King Lemuel-type ability, that would be less OP. (Ex: "Exchange a card in your hand with a OT Green brigade enhancement involving prophecy in your discard pile.")

the issue is most cards 'based on prophecy' aren't that good, and prophetic reference is a bit too broad. Technically everything Jesus did is prophesied :-p.

Unless you band him in. Andy has a point. Make jer territory. Or else I could use Silver Trumpets.

Could capture and seize be territory class for the “take an artifact” part? It would definitely keep game play interesting. :)

I'd vote against this.  It's already buffed due to being playable as a GE or EE battlewinner, and if you pull it off, it's a 3-for-1.  Plus recurrable by Micah/Isaiah/etc., plus works great in side battles.

TC art stealing would probably centralize the meta defense on Pale Green, much like Confusion did a few years ago.

Isaiah is a book absolutely full of Messianic prophecy. That means most of the enhancements are ** cards like this one:

Spoiler (hover to show)

With so many ** coming from Isaiah it feels appropriate to give them a bonus if you pair them:

I'm not sure if hes better, will be missing the drawing, recursion, and broader CBN, but liking that he does fun stuff with star cards, lower numbers, and not having to have an army of Angels out

That’s because they used Emp. Galba’s art. Hopefully they’ll end up changing the image. I also think it’s no bueno. But, his ability is pretty cool/strong.

I believe this image of Isaiah is royalty-free and it's from Wikimedia Commons (and I'm 99% sure it's not already on a Redemption card)

Another option, by Tissot

I was wondering if we would get anything that would let us activate stars otherwise.

Those are some fascinating tradeoffs. Is it intentional that he makes evil star cards like Accursed of God CBN as well?

This Isaiah is obviously way better in a star deck, but the old Isaiah will pair better with Assyrians (so that Razor, Siegeworks, and Capture & Seize are CBN and recurable), which seem good even on their own this year. It'll be interesting to see which version of Isaiah comes out on top, since it seems likely (to me at least) that both will see play.

EDIT: I wonder if we'll see an Isaiah's Call LR.

I appreciate the feedback and alternate options for the art! As you know, finding free, available, good quality art is always one of our biggest challenges! Anytime you can help with suggestions like these it is greatly appreciated.

BACKGROUND: One thing we've been trying to do in the past few years when creating a set is to use illustrations by a specific group of artists for as many cards as is appropriate. Sometimes this is kind of easy because a particular artist will do a series on a specific subject. Examples are the Tissot art we used on several CoW cards and John Martin art we used on several RoJ cards. This helps give the set it's own "unique feel".

So while Tissot has LOTS of great pieces available, we're trying to shy away from using Tissot illustrations this year and probably next. He has a bunch of pieces we plan to use the following year so his style will very much set the tone for the look of a future set.

I didn't realize the Michelangelo piece had been used before on Galba because that one is such poor quality. Michelangelo did a serious that includes multiple prophets. Hypothetically speaking, if we were reprinting other prophets this year, they might also be using Michelangelo's rendition as well. For my part I would prefer to keep the uniformity among cards in the set and don't care as much about the reuse, but we'll see what other member of the team think. This certainly wouldn't be the first time an illustration was reused in a more proper context.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?
