Title: Feverish Spirit (and friends)
Post by: Minister Polarius on October 01, 2012, 10:46:17 PM
Feverish Spirit
0/1 Orange Evil Character
-Generic Demon-
"Both players set aside their hands and the battle until this ability completes. Each player draws ten and attacker attacks. Following that battle, undo everything that happened, place the drawn cards beneath decks, and remove the losing side's characters in the original battle regardless of protection. Cannot be Negated."
~Matthew 8:15-16

Panic
3/3 Orange Curse
"Suspend the return of all cards in set-aside area. When your Demon is Discarded, underdecked or removed, set a card in opponent's hand aside for one turn."
~Leviticus 26:16

Satyr
7/3 Orange Evil Character
-Generic Demon-
"Protect Lost Souls from rescue except by this card. After battle, if opponent has not played any cards that Cannot be Interrupted this turn, redeem a Lost Soul to his Land of Redemption. Cannot be Negated."
~Isaiah 30:21

Spirit of Restlessness
9/9 Orange Evil Character
-Generic Demon, X=Number of cards in set aside areas-
"Negate up to X cards until all set aside areas are empty. If X>6, you may remove this card and all cards in the set-aside area from the game."
~Genesis 27:40

This idea is interesting this could get really messy with grapes of wrath and mayhem though.

I think the opportunity of getting to SoG nj through this can be risky with speed already dominating the game.

It is a new idea to add to the game though very intriguing.

Some old masterpieces worked perfectly for the last two.

Feverish Spirit is an interesting idea, but I don't like it as a card, because it is incredibly complicated for a card I'd rather not have the next 9001 ruling questions come from that card.

I really like the idea of Satyr, but its so potentially powerful, that I fear it may just be used as an autoblock in meta defenses.

Great looking cards as always!

Satyr shouldn't be an issue. If you're attacked with a CBN Hero, Satyr is an autoblock, but otherwise all your opponent has to do is just not play anything and he'll get a Soul. CBN Heroes are running amok, so I think it's fine.

Are you playing the hero if he is just moving from territory to battle? If so then I like the idea. I would die from confusion if Feverish Spirit was ever printed. Is he just a remove all character and start a new battle?

I'm a bit confused on how Feverish Spirit works. Will a rescued soul be undone? Will discarded cards be undone? What exactly does "undo" mean?

Looking at this, it almost looks like Pol has played one too many disciples decks. Holy set-aside shenanigans, Batman!

Haha, I did Feverish Spirit first. The set-aside hijinx came about as a way to play on his ability, I wasn't thinking of really punishing existing set-asides except as a secondary effect.

Feverish Spirit is a really complicated card, I know, and it would never be printed. But here's what he does in plain English: sets aside the existing battle and starts a new one. Thematically, the new battle is a fevered hallucination, and after it, *everything* goes back to the way it was before the "fever dream" started except that the top 10 are now on the bottom and whoever lost the second battle gets removed from the game.

Ah, that makes more sense - and the reasoning is good, if a little hard to tell from the card itself. Thanks for clearing it up.

maybe you could really simplify the card because that ability is wicked.

Unfortunately, that's the most succinct way to say it in Redemption terminology (and even with adding some new terminology).
