Title: External Inheritance
Post by: Deck Metrics on September 07, 2010, 10:52:52 AM
1Pe 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Good Dominant

Place in set-a side. During each player's upkeep if that player has a hero in a territory, that player may draw a card.

Bland and unnecessary IMO. If we're going to make any more dominants, I think they should be theme-specific. (Like if you said "good king" instead of "hero".)

I disagree with your view point on the card idea. Card draw isn't bland, the card is actually pretty mutual and it accerates all decks.

"Set-aside" and "Draw a card" are standard abilities. "During your upkeep phase" is a standard time. "If you have a hero in play" is a pretty standard qualifier. And all these elements are put together in a rather standard way. I call that pretty bland myself.

And it is unnecessary because there is already too much speed in the game. We don't need another drawing card, especially not one that can be splashed into absolutely any deck.

But that's just my opinion.

Hey Bubble, I appreciate your feed back and we both have different opinions and neither are more important than the other. It seems I'm rather in the dark on all these speed cards. Care to enlighten me?

That sounds more like it should be a set aside enhancement, I would not make it optional and put it in Gold good.

Something like:
Gold enhancement
Set aside a hero.  During each player's upkeep if that player has a hero in a territory, that player draws a card.

That way it fits with gold's theme of force drawing, but isn't limited to just Luke characters, but still can't just be splashed into any deck.

I'd also say we don't need anymore drawing cards.  The game needs slowed down a bit imo.  Make it an evil dom, and say if you have more than 2 heros in play, you must put a card on top of your deck, that'd be nice.

I like the idea as a set-aside. Maybe make it:

Eternal Inheritance
0/0 Gold/White Good Enhancement
"Set your N.T. Human Hero aside. While he remains set aside, each player with an N.T. Human Hero in play draws a card during upkeep."

A D1 for every player is pretty balanced, it helps the Luke theme, DD/PP/etc. stop it, and helps Abom.

Have you seriously never seen a speed deck? They've been like the most popular type of deck for a decade.

Hur/Love at First Sight + Gifts of the Magi
Maharai + Claudia + Ethiopian Treasurer + Words of Encouragement + Book of Jashar + Reach of Desperation
Sabbath Breaker
etc.

I've seen some of these cards combo together like Hur & Gifts.

you forgot Book of Hoziah. but it doesn't really work with the dumb 16 card hand-limit.
