"Why would I ever want to give my opponent an Evil Character?"

So I don't know Canaanites but is there many ways to get back your EC that you give to your opponent?  seems like a large cost to pay for a draw 1 if there isn't a few viable ways to get them back

I identify with this sentiment. I've never understood the idea of giving my opponent my ECs - if they're worth playing why would I want to give them away? If they arent worth playing, why are they in my deck?

With the new KoT reveal and the Canaan from FoM that saw no play, maybe there should be some incentive to start tossing Canaanites to your opponents. Canaanite idols is a good start, and Lot's Daughters is great at getting herself over, but that alone isn't enough. Let's make an EC that you actually want to throw over.

So what I'm thinking is a TC character that works well for you but not so well for your opponent. The problem is it has to be balanced - it needs to be worth still running, but not so detrimental that your opponent's only option is to Angel it in their own territory.

Here's my suggestion:

Canaanite Slaves
0/1 Black Territory Class Evil Character
Canaanite, Generic

When holder begins a rescue attempt, owner may draw a card.
It came about when the sons of Israel became strong, they put the Canaanites to forced labor, but they did not drive them out completely.
Joshua 17:13

Rewards you for giving it to your opponent and still decent in your own territory, while not being the end of the world when your opponent gives it to you. Thoughts?
ANB is good. Change my mind.

I thought of a card where you deactivate the opponents Art pile so maybe that can tie in with what your saying.

Canaanite idolaters

Territory Class

" negate and deactivate an artifact (except Idols) in your territory. You may discard a card from hand to negate this".

something like this. I'm not to good with wording.
Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.

Ooh, I like that as well. Probably needs a specific time to do the deactivate. I do think that the new KoT makes a full negative one like this much more viable, since it gives from reserve instead of having to run an otherwise unusable card in your deck.
