Doubt remake?

Doubt
Evil Dominant
SA: Restrict opponent from making a Rescue Attempt this turn.
Verse/artwork as original.

I think it makes a lot of sense, but the auto block capability might be too powerful since it's a dominant and can't be negated like burial shroud (and it does nothing to prevent you from making rescues).
I'd like to hear your feedback!  :)

i think this makes more sense than just the 0/12 demon that may get a block being a dom i think you're right in the original being a little underpowered i like your idea!

Treat it like a burial shroud and I think it's a little more balanced.

SA: Players cannot make a rescue attempt on their next turn.

Your card is definitely more useful than the original, and I applaud your efforts in creativity, so keep it up.  ;D

In all honesty I would not want to see this card printed (no offense). I am not a big fan of cards that leave players twiddling their thumbs on their turn, especially young or new players. Similarly, though, I am not a big fan of Soul Drought and Site Lockout, but we still have those.  ;)

Echoing YMT's sentiments on this one, but that's not to say that a Doubt reprint that actually helped to stop a rescue in certain conditions couldn't be made.  Perhaps something with a power level similar to Strife, but able to 'turn away' the Heroes if a certain condition is not/cannot be met?

What if the SA were "You may search your deck for a lost soul and put it in play to restrict...?"

I would rather that they not be able to search for the Shuffler to create a Drought later, or one of the restricted LSs that I can't access. If we were to go that route, then the opponent should get to search the holder's deck and choose the LS.

I would prefer to make it more like jbeers said and make it neither player than change it any other way, but here is another idea.

If opponent only has one hero in territory restrict that player from making a rescue attempt this turn. If he/she has more that one hero in territory holder may choose which hero that player makes a rescue attempt with this turn.

Or

If opponent only has one hero in territory restrict that player from making a rescue attempt this turn. If he/she has more than one hero holder may restrict that player from using a hero in rescue attempts this turn.

Thanks for the feedback, I'd like to hear about what you think of these ideas.  :)

Or you say "paralyze a hero" instead of "restrict . . . . . . . . this turn"

the first ability you posted here is way stronger but it punishes Ot and NT Spread decks which I like. It is an interesting thought.

yeah i mean i like the idea of strong doms in general. there are a lot of lost souls and options to make things happen or keep them from happening. sometimes that one extra block from a dom could be totally worth the spot

I don't think the game needs more dominants, especially those that stop a rescue.

sometimes that one extra block from a dom could be totally worth the spot

I would think almost every player would add this card to their deck, if it stays as written in the original post.

Doubt would be really cool if it did something like:

Doubt: Place on a hero: Paralyze that hero.

Maybe add, "When holder plays Son of God, discard this card and hero is healed.

That's a pretty good idea, I would like it better though if it was bit more powerful and just paralyzed them so you can't get rid of it by Nathan or Shrine to Artemis or the like.

I feel like the ability they gave the new Serpent card would have been a great ability for a Doubt reprint. Maybe something similar could be used for this?

Paralyze a hero for X turns (or while placed) and while paralyzed restrict some sort of action on the part of the hero's controller?

How about:

Doubt: Place on a hero: Paralyze that hero. This card is protected from opponents'. Discard this card if opponent plays Son of God.

Or even:
Doubt: Place on a hero: Paralyze that hero. This card is protected from opponents'. Opponent may discard a good Dominant from hand to discard this card.
