Disciples Playtest Cards

I stumbled across an old file that contained the first version of Disciples that I tested. I thought people might find it interesting to see what a few of these cards looked like in the preliminary stages. Notice we actually did tone down the speed of Disciples as set progressed. :)

Originally a D2 at any time and activate a new Artifact!

I believe this was the first version of Thad.

Matthew originally didn't have any limit to his drawing. It was sick.

We actually did think Disciples were too fast and cut this territory class D3.

I'm glad 4DC only draws with Peter now, but I think I would have liked the activate a new artifact effect over the protect it has now (since it overlaps, and is less useful than, Simon's protect).

Also, I hope you actually print Midnight Call for Bread (just with some kind of different ability) cuz the verse and title are nice and the art is sweet.

Who thought it was such a good idea to have them be that fast?

I don't think it was so much about having Disciples be "fast". One of purple's strengths is drawing cards so purple cards were designed with that in mind. That was decided long before I joined the team but I can't say I disagree with it.

I am glad the Matt is not that one. 11 cards per turn, that's almost better than Samuel.

That is better than Samuel.
