Darius

Because both Persians and Daniel need help. A lot of help.

King Darius
Type: Hero • Brigade: White/Purple • Ability: 6/2 • Class: None • Special Ability: If Lion's Den or Babylon are in play set aside all captured characters for one turn, then return them to their owner's territories at face value. If blocked by a Persian convert Darius to a brown evil character for one turn. If no other heroes are in battle, may band to an OT Prophet. • Identifiers: Male OT Human, Median, Medo-Persian King, Persian Royalty • Verse: Daniel 5:31

Possibly more cards to be edited in since I hate to just post one card at a time, but I didn't want to forget to post this.

If this is the Darius whose forces took Babylon, I'd think he'd be Warrior Class.

Not crazy about this guy being a Hero, or at least starting out as one. Also not really crazy about his ability. He seems pretty fluffy to me. I might go for something like this:

Darius
6/2 Brown EC
Medo-Persian King, Holds one active Darius' Decree as an Evil Character
"If blocking and Persian Presidents is in play, you may search deck or discard pile for Darius' Decree and activate it on Darius. If Daniel is in play, convert this character to a White/Purple hero after battle. Cannot be negated.
Use the Mad Bomber to rescue his Province.

And then he should band to daniel!!!! Awesome Idea

I also agree with him starting out Evil with a convert condition. The only Civilization King I could see starting out good is Cyrus the Great.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

he was only deceived by the Presidents, and instantly lamented it. In the end he worships Yahweh and exalts him as the one true god. Following patterns of Rahab and stuff, his role in the bible is far more positive than negative.

Also, from what I was able to research (which was limited, i'll admit) he wasn't very involved in the overthrow, it was more king Cyrus. I couldn't find any proof that he'd fought, so I went with nothing rather than something.

His ability is meant to help both Daniel heroes and Persian ECs. Setting aside more characters give Persian Persidents more targets. The banding can target any number of useful heroes. But he has to look for the help (He sought out Daniel, he wasn't just there already).

Darius exalted Daniel to the second highest position in the land and loved him dearly. Daniel was also 3rd ruler of Babylon at one point, so I wouldn't say they were straight up enemies. He was their servant, and he was loyal.

Well, King Hiram is a Canaanite. Hey, King Hiram is a Canaanite! I would think anyway, since King of Tyrus is...

Lemuel is also a non-Israelite king.

Solomon is a non-Israelite King? At least, some of Redemption would say that.

As far as Redemption is technically concerned, they're different people. Strict evidence doesn't lend to them being the same, either. The idea they're the same seems to come primarily from legends.

Legends are completely trustworthy. I read about Lilith in the first creation story all the time.

Actually it's not legends. He's pretty clearly Solomon from context, historical understanding, writing style, and oral tradition (put that one last for a reason).
