Christmas Tin

Okay, I know there is much work to be done but have a young fellow (9yrs old) that would love to see this take affect. There is a LOT of work to be done!!  Would love to hear and see what others think of this!

(1)Mary-hero
Scripture Reference - Luke 1:31
Brigade Color - either rainbow or 4 colors white/blue/purple/silver
Numbers - maybe a 5/6 or 6/7 I could even go lower maybe even a 4/5.  She was not on the offense but defense so I see her defense as stronger.
Special Ability - Ignores all Herod's and Roman's, may band to Joseph the Carpenter(blue), Gabriel(silver) and Elizabeth(gold)

(2)Manger-artifact
Scripture Reference - Luke 2:12
Special Ability - Can search draw pile for lamb icon card, may be used only twice
(I really don't know how strong that would play, but from experience it is a matter of luck of the draw it could pick a quick win or still take a while, but I like that ability concept in some form for the artifact.)

(3)Bethlehem-site card
Scripture Reference - Luke 2:4
Brigade color - either rainbow or pick one of the four colors of Mary maybe.
Special Ability - N.T. hero's have access to all Israel and Egypt sites.

(4)Shepherds-Hero
Scripture Reference - Luke 2:8
Brigade Color - White/Blue or White/Purple or even White/Silver
Numbers - Maybe 4/3 or 5/4
Special Ability - Search deck for any good Luke or Matthew enhancement, play next enhancement.
Or even just search for any good N.T. enhancement and play.
Or could you use Gospel enhancement

(5)Tidings of great joy-enhancement
Scripture Reference - Luke 2:10
Brigade Color - white/blue/purple/silver or combo of two of those or even rainbow
Numbers - 2/4 or 3/5 (for protection)
Special Ability - Search deck for a Bethlehem or Jerusalem site and put in play

(6)Flock of sheep-enhancement
Scripture Reference - Luke 2:8
Brigade Color - rainbow
Numbers - x/x - x=number of Gospel heros in play

(7)Donkey-enhancement
Scripture Reference - John 12:15
Brigade color - again one, or multi of the colors for Mary
Special Ability - search draw pile for N.T. artifact and activate it.

I like the idea of such a tin, and my comments are based on what would be needed for these to be actual card concepts.

1. Mary should probably just be printed in White, since that's the theme she fits best in.  I understand the concept of giving her all brigades, but I'm not sure that makes as much sense for her, and I don't think any human will ever get printed in Silver (except as a rainbow, obviously).  For her ability, I am not a fan of pre-block ignore cards personally, and I'm not sure it would fit as much as Protect.  She could be "Protect all heroes from Herods and Romans.  May band to Joseph the Carpenter, Gabriel, or Elizabeth."

2. That would indeed be VERY strong, too powerful in fact ;)  Not sure if there is a way to make this very well balanced.

3. If this is a site-access card, it won't do much if it can only access Israel and Egypt sites and is only one brigade.  If it is multi-brigade, it already allows access to every site.  I'm not sure if it makes sense as a multi, but single-colored sites don't generally work for heroes, but block them from accessing.

4. As before, no silver on humans, though you could instead allow them to play silver enhancements if that is desired.  As far as searching, that is really powerful on its own.  Allowing the hero to search, then play is very overpowered.  So what if you had them be a single brigade (White maybe?) with the ability "May use NT silver enhancements.  Cannot be Interrupted."

5. White/Silver would be the best IMO, but the ability isn't going to be very useful given the available sites.  We could do something similar to Temple Dedication in that it searches, and could be removed for additional effects.  What about "Territory Class: Search deck for a NT white brigade Hero.  You may remove this from the game to protect that Hero from evil cards until end of turn."

6. I...like it, it's not going to be very powerful, but it has the potential to give good numbers and is great Herod Temple fodder.  Just need to define Gospel hero and it's good IMO.

7. I'm not sure this one should be tied to Mary necessarily, or that the ability matches the story as well.  Daughter of Zion does not necessarily mean Mary, it refers more generally to the people of Israel.  Perhaps this one could be a TC enhancement that searches out a NT multi-colored site from deck or discard?  Not really sure where to go with that one, just a thought.

Great help!  Thanks for all those comments.  Looking at adding some evil cards and saw that there are many herod and roman cards that could already tie into the story line.  But to get these comments helps narrow down a line of thinking for the rest of the cards.  I really would like to see these be a possibility.  At Creation NE I have heard a couple people say about having a bit more powerful Mary.  And when the young guy that I introduced into the game said doing a Christmas tin seemed like a great way to get a Stronger Mary out there. More to follow soon.....

Once you get your ideas worked out, you can use this program to create your own card images.

These cards are cool, but a little underpowered compared to the new TEC cards.

Nothing better than AUTO or Disciples. So not overpowered in the slightest.

AUtO Is way overpowered, but I still see very little use for him, whereas he used to be in almost every tournament deck.

All AutO is good for is drawing cards, I sometimes use him but not that much. I would like to see a christmas tin, maybe next year...

OFF TOPIC ;)
But in all seriousness the Christmas tin is a great idea. Remaking Augustus would be hard since his ability almost works perfectly now. (NT heroes RETURN home and pay a tax (discard a card))

Maybe a TC enhancement that says if played on Mary or Joseph the Carpenter search deck for Son of God (not to overpowered and would see some play but not a huge amount)

Perhaps this would be a cool add to a Christmas themed deck. I give you the next Seasonal Promo, Bethlehem!

I believe that rule was deleted recently.

As for the card, now that's a city! I like both halves of this card a lot. The fort side is an extremely potent way to make use of extra heroes mid-late game and offers a deck building puzzle (book reference) to get the most use out of it.

Oh nice.  Didn't even realize the rule had changed.

Looks like Antediluveans/The Flood could be splashed with offenses other than Flood Survivors with Bethlehem support too.  Sure, it's a little combo-ey, but if you pull it off...

Why not just combine the two ideas?  Judges have always paired well with Pale Green as an antimeta deck - can we fit in Sammy's Sac, Bethlehem, The Flood, and a few of our favorite Antediluveans?
