Areopagus
Evil Fortress
-X=Number of Greeks revealed from hand-
"Each Discard Phase, you may reveal any number of Greeks in your hand to increase your hand limit by X that phase. Once per turn, may return your Greek to hand to cause all players to draw one."
I wanted a "Protect fort" that's not just a vanilla copy/paste.

If it actually had some ability that kept Greeks safe instead of just keeping them off the table, I would love it. As is, I don't think it would see much play.
Instead of the whole X phrase, can't you just say, "Reveal any number of Greeks from hand. They don't count towards hand limit that phase," or something like that with fewer words?
Also, verse?

Definitely like that concept... but I have to agree with BB. Maybe have it return up to 2 per turn, and for every one returned protect a Greek from an opponent, or something like that?
-
Holding cards in hand is the best possible protection because they're never in danger of having the fort negated and then being blown up on the opponent's turn. I don't want it to be too powerful. I do want to give it a little more zest, though, so edited.

Like the addition a lot.

Like that way more, but I still don't understand why you wouldn't prefer the wording "Reveal any number of Greeks from hand during discard phase. They don't count towards hand limit that phase."
-
The way I have it worded uses all standard terminology. While your way may be a bit simpler, it's got some nonstandard wording which is always best to avoid.

That's true, I didn't really think of Tables of the Law and Death and Hades.
