Cool card. I think the ability, "resurrect" makes sense here. But would you be able to resurrect an evil character? I don't know if that would make as much sense. I feel like resurrect has too much of a positive connotation for that. Also, to make the ability more unique, I think you would add the card to territory, otherwise it would essentially the same as a search ability.

I don't know that we need Resurrect as a key term, since "search" would do the exact same thing...

Revelation 20 deals with a mass resurrection of wicked people.

7 When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison, 8 and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. 9 And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Good idea to return to territory. Fixed.

"Search your discard pile for" is far longer than "Resurrect." Anything to cut down on wordage (especially when it makes perfect sense like it does here) is a positive thing in my book.

Yeah. It would need some kind of limit if it were actually printed.

I absolutely love the idea for a Resurrection keyword! Which is saying something because I normally dislike keywords.

The only two beefs I have with the card are the numbers and the name of the card.

If I'm not mistaken Redemption is still doing the stats don't add up to over 20 thing... 12/10 adds up to 22. Annnnnd Angel at the Tomb never actually resurrected a person. Just rename the card to Resurrecting Angel or some cheesy like that and it should be kosher.

Let's please get back on the topic of the card and the new keyword idea, I don't necessarily think Daniel wanted so many comments on just the number abilities. :P

Since I didn't actually mention my opinion in my last post, here it is.

Being a casual card game player (especially MtG) I'm generally all for keywords, especially ones that represent abilities used frequently and so would serve to save space. The caveat that I have is that the keyword should be fairly explicit on what it does, or easily recognizable as a combination of other abilities. Capture, for example, is very clear on what it does, so is convert. Resurrect, I feel, would fit well with these other, already established, keywords and is clear on what it does generally (you'd have to confirm for people that it returns the Hero to play, of course, but in general it's easy to understand).

I feel as though the definition of Resurrect should be restricted to characters (rather than "target card" as it is now) because you can't really resurrect an inanimate object or place/location. Other than that nit pick, I think it's a good new keyword. :)

I agree that the numbers are a bit high; Legion of Angels isn't quite good enough to make it into top-tier decks, but with an ability like this, I'm worried that it could be much. Lowering the numbers marginally to something like 7/7 or 8/8 is probably best. That said, I don't think it needs any additional limits; it's fairly powerful, but since it can be negated, it won't really be that much.

I agree that changing the name to Resurrecting Angel is better, since the Angel at the Tomb didn't do any resurrecting itself.

I initially thought the numbers needed balancing as well, but what good is the 12/10? Michael has a marginally better ability and still doesn't see much play.

Just wanted to share that I believe this passage is referring to living people during, or rather at the end of, the Millennial Kingdom - those who were not saved at Jesus' Second Coming (b/c they would be raptured and won't follow Satan), and neither were they among those who took the mark of the beast (because these were thrown into the lake of fire along with the antichrist and false prophet in Rev. 19). Isaiah 65:8, 20-25, Joel 2:32, and Zech. 12:14, 14:16 are a few verses speaking about this group of people. They will live very long lives, as people did after the Fall until not too long after the Flood (Gen. 5), as God is, through Jesus in the resurrection, bringing about the "restoration of all things" (Acts 3:21, Romans 8:18-25), culminating in Rev. 21-22 (which is amazingly complementary to, and of course enhanced from, Gen. 1-2!). The only "resurrection" of the unsaved who have died is to be judged by Jesus at His throne (Heb. 9:27, Matt. 25:31-46, Rev. 20:11-15).
