Title: Alabaster Jar
Post by: Josh on February 03, 2013, 11:49:09 AM
Since no one plays Luke/John heroes these days (except in the rare herolite/Abom deck), because making your opponent draw cards is not a good enough tradeoff at this point, I'm trying to remedy that.

Alabaster Jar (John 12:3)
Artifact
Identifier:  May be activated on your female Gold Luke/John hero, X = number of cards in opponent's deck
"Each time an opponent draws cards because of a hero or good enhancement, opponent must set aside one of his evil or neutral cards from hand or territory (except a lost soul).  When X < 5, place the set-aside cards beneath deck."

Mary (sister of Martha) (same verse)
7/5 Gold hero
"Search deck for Alabaster Jar.  If Alabaster Jar is in play, each player must draw 1.  May band to Martha."

really like the idea, because of how its worded wouldn't all cards in set-aside go beneath deck then x < 5, including things like Pentecost and fishing boat? if this isn't intended, id reword it to say " when x<5, all cards set-aside by alabaster jar in opponents set-aside area are placed beneath deck" I really like how this also helps curb speed, it could be put into any deck to help stop speed, but gets an added boost in a luke deck

Because it says "the cards", specifically referring to those which have been set aside by its own special ability, I believe it will work as I intend.

And yes, I did intend for it to curb speed as well.

And now that I see they could set aside my Abomb that I dropped in their territory...  I will need to change the wording quick.
