https://pastebin.com/Jt5kkaX8The goal of the offense is to out tempo the opponent by providing consistent gradual card advantage then rescuing either with a large angel band or Zaccheus turning Good Seed/TCiB/Resurrection into battlewinners.
The defense aims to put constant pressure on the opponent's offensive resources by preventing the next with Guard then blocking with a protected dude and blocking with a dominant should they actually have enough ammo to get through, then doing it all over again next turn.
I didn't play Disciples partially because I wanted to be contrarian but also because I hoped more people would be prepared specifically for the Disciples matchup and having more Heroes with draw abilities, albeit in lower quantities, would make the deck less likely to clunk out compared to being all in on Matthew. Unfortunately after seeing the results of the field I think Disciples are just stronger regardless.
As for changes to the deck, I would make the following:
TSA->Mary
Everlasting Beings->Striking Herod
Herod Phillip->Golgotha
Orphans->Forsaken
TSA and Everlasting beings are both flex slots for their card type and they didn't pay off that well. Mary being able to remove opposing BotCs is incredible important and she needs to come back in for that. Striking Herod gets you out of lots of jams as another way to kill Ananias, interrupt a Condemned Thief, win a battle if you can't band, etc. Herod Phillip was my most cuttable EC and I even Darkness'd to him just to discard him to the Prosperity I had also just drawn which usually is good sign the card might be cuttable. Golgotha would have helped against Jairus, Lazarus, etc and allowed me to tutor ECs with Angelic Guidance. Orphans was a last minute tech for soul hide but Zach Gilbaugh put me onto Forsaken and I think it would have just been the correct flex soul for that slot. It still helps in the Flood matchup by disrupting the Noah band and also hurts a ton of other random things in the meta. Shoutout to the Marshalls as well for the last minute swap to Executioner over Antipas. Antipas has been underwhelming all season and Executioner+Horses enables play first into Futile and Abandonment.
