Analysis: This was one of the 2 T2 decks I used in T2 tournaments this year, and I won the T2 Only with it. Unfortunately, I forgot I bring the exact deck list with me to Nats, so I had to try to reconstruct it from memory. I also had planned it to be my backup deck, but in retrospect it was far superior to my "primary" deck and probably should have been the one to use every round.
The basic strategy on defense is to put a Broken Cisterns or 2 in opponents territory, to decrease their Heroes. BC can always be helpful, especially in concert with Plagued, but it really gets nasty when comboed with Sower, who I use to place a rainbow enhancement on your EC, effectively wiping out all of your Heroes with toughness 9 or less (or even higher, if Plagued is active). Alternatively, I can place Love on my own Hero, and use Stalks to exchange it to your territory, accomplishing the same thing. The rest of the defense is fairly small with a few stall blocks, and Plots and Dungeons to finish off anyone who survived the Cisterns (or to take care of Heroes like Peter or Silas). The offensive strategy is pretty vanilla Judges, but a few nice tricks are to use Sword Against Sword to get a chance to play Cisterns even without High Places, and Taking Egypt's Wealth is also great in a Rehoboam side battle.
Changes I would make would probably be to lower the number of Artifacts (9 + 2 Curses and a Covenant is too many with only 1 slot for them) and probably toss the missing Fortresses in.
The timeout game I won 6-4 vs. eventual champion Justin, and I would have won on my last turn if I had made the right attack, but it was kind of a toss up that I just chose incorrectly. At the time, I was still pretty satisfied with the timeout win, but after Justin went undefeated for the rest of the tournament, and I lost a game to Tyler Stevens with my other deck, it turned out that Justin won by 2 points, the one he earned in the timeout loss, and the one I lost in the timeout win. Had I made the final rescue, I win the tournament by head-to-head. Frustrating, sure, but I was still very happy with the deck's performance overall.
