I don't play Sealed often, and this was the first time I had ever played it at Nationals. However, it was an excellent time to get my best ever pack pulls for Sealed. Usually in Sealed, I'm happy if I can add 6 cards that may or may not come in handy. I ended up adding 8 cards to the I deck, and cutting 2 starter deck cards (Andrew--since I added 2 Purple Heroes, and Water to Wine). Despite what conventional wisdom said (take 3 Kings or 2 Kings/1 Priests), I grabbed a Kings, Priests and Patriarchs and wow did Patriarchs pay off. Covenant of Noah, Gib Trick and Widow (who single-handedly won me a game against arguably the best defense in the field). King Jotham was an amazing pull since both starter decks include Warrior Class ECs--particularly against the I defense since Jotham would get initiative against the big Giants. After I thought I couldn't do much better, I pulled Prince of this World and Flee from Enemies from my Priests pack and traded for the Unified Kingdom and Besieged that my opening round opponent pulled. There were even a few other cards that normally I would have added for sure with an "average pull," but couldn't fit them (Watcher, Acts of Uzziah, King Amon, Abner's Spear, Rust). I consider myself extremely fortunate to have received the I deck because I pulled next to nothing for the J deck other than Covenant with Noah and Prince, which fit in any deck.
That being said, I wasn't the only one who had an amazing pull and I'll do my best to write a tournament report for my 6 Sealed games later this week.
