Type 2 Teams

Has anyone thought of doing T2 teams, if so how did it work and how was it.

If not are there any ideas on the rules, or how the rules would be different than T1 teams?

(on a side note I think I may have done it once, but it was a long time ago and I have no idea how it worked or if there is anything that should be changed)

I think it would be a little bit much. In Type 2, it would mean you can have 10 of certain cards (5 for each player) or something like 6 Samaritan Water Jars. IMO that'd be a bit ridiculous.

No one would ever score.  6 Unholy Writs, 6 Burial Shrouds, the possibilty for 10 Uzzahs to be played, plus between teh two players you could have 10 two thousand horses with 10 Forgotten History's, 10 Death of the Unrighteous, and that is just the start of the list.
I never want to grow up, hmmm maybe thats why I'm a youth pastor.

Heh. That made me laugh. You couldn't have 12 AoCP's, or even close to 11 TGT's, but it was still kind of humorous.

Today some of my playgroup decided to try teams with T2, with these rules.

Deck Building Rules:
-The restrictions are for the entire team, so only 5 of any Single color enhancement/character with a special ability. 1 of each muli-colored enhancement/dominants. 3 of each Fortress/Artifact/Covenant.
Since Lost Souls and Sites with Special abilities are 1 per 50 each deck could contain 2 copies of each lost soul (more if they are bigger).
Good and Evil of the TEAM must be equal.
Otherwise follow normal deck building rules.

Special Rules:
Shared land of Bondage, Sites, and Fortresses.
Each Player has their own artifact pile
Unique restrictions are per team. (if one player has Michael in play his team mate can't have a Michael in play)
Your refers to a single player not a team, except in the Shared cards (fortresses, sites and lost souls)
For Artifacts in a fortress, if they use Your or use upon activation only work for the owner, however the teammate can activate a different artifact on his turn and return the previous one to the artifact pile.
Burial Shroud counts for both players due to the shared land of bondage.
Since Fortresses are shared, cards can be moved between players through a fortress, such as characters through Kingdoms of the World and Goshen or enhancements through Storehouse etc.

I do not agree with your Burial Shroud that is not the way teams work. It should be you can not attack that player but you can attack the other.

This sounds wrong unless I misinterpreted this. Good and evil must be equal in your deck and your teammates. If you were playing like thisw then I agree.
Other then those two rules how did it go?

Tyler,

That is absolutely how teams works - Because all the Lost Souls are held in one land of bondage Burial Shroud must protect both partners, that's how we played it at Nationals this year, thats how it should be played from here on out.

It worked well and we all had fun

Even though the rules for Good and Evil being equal for the entire team did allow one deck to have more good if the other deck had more evil, I think all the decks were balanced for good and evil and I think I would just change that to be the rule for the next times

Ya, I agree that both decks need to be equal, not just the teams. Because then you can get defenseless and heroless decks and that isn't how you want teams to work.

I agree that a T2 Teams event should have both decks with equal good and evil cards because that is one of the distinctive things about T2.

However, the regular TEAMS event is fine with one player having primarily offense and one player primarily defense (ie. Gabe/Kevin winning in '09).  Although both players having balanced decks can also be successful (ie. Ben/Kirk winning in '08).  That's one of the great things about TEAMS, so many different ways to win :)
