Here's the deal with the turbo. You have 10 minute matches with 30 seconds per each persons turn. You have five rounds so at the most, the tournament lasts an hour. This would hurt speed decks because they only have 30 seconds per turn (you'd have to move fast to actually get the play within 30 seconds with all that drawing), it hurt decks that take a while to get going, and make it so you'd have to build a well balanced deck in order to win. All the other redemption rules apply.
We did this for fun at my college and it was a great time. You have to quick on your toes with this. This can get tense and funny at the same time when there are two minutes left with a score of 2-2.
Also as an option (we did this) was when the rounds were over, you'd set up a single elimination tournament at the end. It would extend the tourney a bit longer and in the end, you'd have people sitting around watching, making it like a sporting event with people cheering you on. You'd have to have a strong mental make up if people annoy you when they watch, but it's a lot of fun. Just thought I'd suggest it.

Sounds fun. I like it because, like you mentioned, it displaces many currently popular deck types.
Also, did you play this in Multiplayer?
-
I like the idea!

We haven't tried it for MP yet, but we think it would be a blast. have to set the time limit a little higher I would think.

cool i'm a quick loser :D but seriously i played quick games before why wouldn't this be any differant?

this ensures it is a quick game, unlike if it is just 2 speed decks
-
you see the thing is its close to impossible to finish a game in 10 mins or less unless one person is really bad (like me ;D) or one person is just oober good
-
The only problem is, some people might just stall when blocking and you'd never get a rescue.

I know this idea hasn't been looked at in a long time. However I think it is interesting. I would think about trying one of these, but I am unsure what to do about 1 part of the game.
If you only have 30 sec to take your turn, what do you do about battle. It would seem that your opponent could stall in playing their EEs so that your 30 sec would finish before you were able to actually finish a battle.
Or is the battle itself not included in the 30 sec?

Hey there,
The battle isn't included in the 30 secs, but the opponent must be swift in his attempt to block. At least that is the way we run it when we do it for fun.
