Title: All Characters Can Rescue Lost Souls

I thought this might be an interesting variation to try as far as balancing the game goes. Obviously, this would never work, as it would almost completely destroy the Christian element, but as a fun category, it might be interesting.

So if you haven't figured it out, the winner of a battle would rescue a lost soul (if one is available from an opponent). Doesn't matter if it was a hero or evil character. So if Samuel rescues and gets owned by a KoT, KoT rescues a soul. When it comes down to mutual destruction, the hero would still win, and battles could still only be initiated by heroes. Additionally, Uzzah wouldn't rescue a soul, as he makes you lose the battle.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure I like this. There are too many auto-blocks for this to work terribly well.

Games would be over very quickly.  5 battles would guarantee that one player already had 3 LSs, and SoG+NJ would end it.

That is a problem, but isn't necessarily true. The early game becomes more of a chess match. You can attack with a hero, but if they have an evil character, you have to give up a lost soul. You don't want to try for the lucky rescues because they could backfire.

Such as what? Most good autoblocks nowadays lose the battle, but prevent a soul from being rescued. The discard alls are easily negated.
