Hey I've done this kind of stuff before so can I help?
I actually made my own CCG before and it was pretty sound 
An unanswered question is infinitely better than an unquestioned answer.

Mine was the other way around the art and cards didn't look so good but the gameplay and ideas were good

Ya, the game wasnt very structered but the art was sweet.
The people I work with usually get hung up over art and card design without working much on the rules. I've made a few and as long as you don't mind working on the GAME before the cards I'll help a bit.
