I wont waste time typing it all up. Short of it is: I have designed a VERY small press card game to be used as an outreach tool. Each card has both english and spanish text on it and I hope that it will be used in areas like mine to reach out to our non-english speaking brothers and sisters and from there to those who do not know Jesus that do not speak english. Nope, it isn't heavy on game mechanics, kept it as simple as possible (basic rules are 1 page) the object of the game is pure fellowship and outreach to those who do not speak the same language as you and I.

Game looks great, i'm going to drop in an order when I have more money, quick question though - I read, then reread through the rules and I am confused about "Teaching" can specific characters teach? can all characters teach? I see no notation on any of the cards about that, I'm just curious so that I know game play wise.

Also, re-looking over the cards "Be still and know" is broken, I will simply choose X to be 1000000 or some other insane number that you can't match and then that is added to your Personal Faith points and I win. unless I missed something in the rules again.

All Characters can teach. Just as in life, we can all tell someone about God, Jesus, and tech them, in the game all characters can teach. Checking Be Still and Know... The card is supposed to take the character out of the game for said number of turns and return it with the +X bonus (so you have to go that long without that character). May be the first posted errata to a card...

Haven't had a chance to check out the mechanics but it sounds solid. I like games that are designed to be education.

Suggestions?

N.T. Greek/Hebrew cards: it'd be a great tool for seminary/theology students.

YES! I like that idea! I struggled through Greek! If I had a tool like that it would have been easier for me, though seeing as NT Greek is a dead language quoting it would be difficult, but there are ways around it (One of my professors actually thought HE knew exactly how each word was pronounced... So for that Semester Greek was a spoken language.)

But What of this card... Do you think that it is broken?

Apocrypha is another valuable resource; Christians today have practically ignored these books. It will especially be good if your target audience is Spanish speaking Catholics.
I'd also be sure to be careful that you don't pull verses out of context of meaning. You don't want a bunch of kids running around quoting random pieces of the Bible and completely missing the big picture; understanding the context of meaning is more important than memorisation.

You're right. Don't get me wrong, I like the apocrypha (we're talking about the extra books in the Catholic bible, not every single little "extra biblical" book ever written).

But on a serious note, there needs to be some kind of apocyphal card game. It'd be a great tool by which to learn it.

In fact... One could learn a lot of things if there were card games centered around them...

As long as the apocrypha can be spiritually educational I think it is appropriate too. Especially since most latinos are going to come from a catholic background.

No, but based on the same basic mechanics. Think of Soul Sight as an early beta of this game. Yes it has been a while in coming to fruition but I think the final product will be worth it all. I am now working Souly on the production (sorry for the pun) of The Word and other similar projects.

As for the Apocrypha let's not get into a debate on this board, save it for a dedicated debate thread.

Well, there's been some effort on the part of various people to push for some Apocryphal cards following the release of St. Patrick, the cards from Josephus, and the Angel Wars cards.
