Anyone else a Final Fantasy fan but can't do magic

I was wondering if anyone knew of a game of a final fantasy play style but doesn't have magic? (My favorite was FF IX)

Thanks,
KingLeo

If you're looking for a J-RPG that doesn't use magic, good luck.

If you're looking for just a regular RPG that doesn't use magic, good luck again, but there are a few. Though the only one that comes to mind is Mount & Blade and that game wasn't very good.

There's plenty of A-RPGs that don't use magic. They also tend to involve incredibly violent sequences that would suggest he can't play those either.

I just can't think of any that are in the final fantasy style though.

Depends whether he means aesthetically or gameplay

Yeah ive been researching for a while but haven't been able to find anything. Closest I can get to anything kind of what I like is Fire emblem but it also has magic... sigh....

Are you having issues with NPCs using magic or just you because Skyrim is an amazing RPG that has magic but doesn't make you use it, though there is a ton of magic being used around you. Otherwise you should be fine the only possible limitation is that you cannot do any of college of winterhold quests with out initially summoning a flame Atronarch (though you can speech out of this) or using wards. The only other thing is that you must use shouts, which aren't technically magic but function in a similar way. So I guess magic helps  for the college of winterhold but otherwise you can stick to melee weapons and arrows. Pretty sure all Elder Scroll games function like this. Also if we are just talking RPG you could play the Fallout games they don't use magic at all, though it is more violent than most rpgs.

Edit: I forgot about KOTOR, that game doesn't have any magic though it does have things related to the force.

The PCs in the Mario and Luigi series don't use magic (although some of the antagonists do).

In Golden Sun, the characters use Psychic powers rather than magic.

In Final Fantasy 1, 3, and 5 you can choose not to have any magic users in your party, but you'll make the game far harder (and they're already pretty difficult).

If you're looking for an A-RPG without magic, then the Fallout series is definitely the way to go.

Since you've obviously played FF IX, why do you suddenly care if a game has magic in it?
An unanswered question is infinitely better than an unquestioned answer.

Really you can play just about any game that has magic without using it. You'll definitely make it harder on yourself and certain characters become useless but it can be done

Paper Mario (at least the original, never played the later ones) didn't have you use magic (though a few of the enemies do)
