What did you guys think of the Hobbit 3? Was it as good as Lord of the Rings 3? Did it sum up the story? I can't wait to see it tomorrow! I loved the other Hobbit movies and all the Lord of the Rings movies too.

Not as good as Avengers.

I really didn't like the first 2 from The Hobbit series. I felt they added way to much corny stuff.  The battle of the five armies was good. By far the best of the series.  The added pieces were at least bearable and the found pretty cool ways of killing off the people that died in the books.  I don't mind Azog the definer in this one.  He seems to fit despite the fact that he is a 2nd age Orc and should be involved in this series at all.

The scene with Galadriel, Elron, Ratagast, and Gandalf was cool except that it really pulled off the scene from "The Fellowship" where Gandalf stands up to the Balrog.  This scene and the final scene p Gandalf bidding fair well to Bilbo bothered because it make Gandalf and the 2 1st age elves look moronic that they didn't realize that Bilbo had "the ring" and that they didn't do anything about the potential of the return of the darkness.

I haven't seen it yet, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. I think there is the potential for me to enjoy it simply as a movie, but being a Tolkien book-to-movie I'm not looking forward to it. They've added so much and strayed so far from the text of The Hobbit in trying to milk it for 3 movies that the lore junkie in me just cringes when watching them. I've seen the first two and enjoyed them as movies (the stuff they've added isn't terrible), but I just can't support them as "Hobbit" movies because it feels more like a "based on" than a book-to-movie port.

the final scene p Gandalf bidding fair well to Bilbo bothered because it make Gandalf and the 2 1st age elves look moronic that they didn't realize that Bilbo had "the ring" and that they didn't do anything about the potential of the return of the darkness.
To be fair, it is canonical that Gandalf doesn't know this is Sauron's One Ring at this point. He doesn't confirm this until Fellowship.

I didn't like how the whole trailer seemed to revolve around Thorin the Dwarf.

I wonder if they'll make a LEGO Hobbit 2. The original only covered the first 2 movies and while the movies are meh-ish lore-wise I always enjoy the LEGO games. :P
