(I'm starting these and didn't know where to put it so I'll stick it here too I guess)

Jerome Beers
I have been thinking of posting an artist of the week for some time now and figured I'd give it a shot. So here goes nothing and I hope you guys like it. If it goes over well I'll try to keep writing more of these.

Week 1: Ben Howard
When your looking for a moment to step back and breath listening to Ben Howard is a quiet first step. He brings you a relaxed coffee house sound but doesn't leave you there. You see, Ben won't lull you to sleep with soft acoustics and overabundant falsettos. His guitar drives forward to fool you into taping your finger eight times to every four beats. The result is an engaging sound that makes you lean into your speakers. The rushed pace fits in the same way that strong harsh colors compose a soft sunset. Paul Simon and Ben Howard not only have similar voices but use similar effects. The two songwriters weave harmonies and slip in echoing effects onto there voices. Lyrically Ben resembles folk artists more than generic coffee house singers. He seems to enjoy painting a landscape with his words more than recycling catchy love lines. His first and only album Every Kingdom offers the listener soothing instrumentals, some unique writing, and an easily enjoyable experience.

Top song recommendations:
Old Pine
Keep Your Head Up
Promise
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.
