I think thats what the people doing the show are shooting for, and its not a bad thing.  In fact I think that should be what any cartoon should shoot for

"Evil" is an opinion*, but yes there are antagonists
(*Some people actually Like and don't blame the antagonists for doing what they did. [e.g. Some people see the indefinite imprisonment of discord by celestia inside of a stone statue as much "Eviler" than the Mischief discord caused when he escaped]

I'm about finished with the first season now. My favorite episode so far is the one with Pinkie's premonitions via twitchings. Love it! And it's also a blast looking for Doctor Whooves and Derpy throughout the episodes!

In My Opinion season 2 is Better. (Not say S1 is bad)
Where exactly are you watching episodes from? If Your Source has the edited derpy on the "The Last Roundup" episode of season 2 you will need to look up the original. why did they edit it anyways?, it was a just few emails complaining about nothing.
anyways, Glad to see you are enjoying the show  :D

I'm watching them on Youtube. (Which oddly enough,  Hasbro doesn't mind this.) I have seen both versions of the Derpy clip. ("I just don't know what went wrong!") I can't wait to see Discord! (Q for the win!)

Love and Tolerate everypony!
Can I ask a serious question about this phrase please?

I have a 10 year old boy who plays with Legos and pretend swords and scary action figures one day, but also enjoys his huge Littlest Pet Shop and Webkinz collection on another day.  I say this because I see him as "well-rounded" and am not afraid of him getting interested in things that are traditionally considered to be for girls.  This is why I have considered looking into this show.

But phrases like this, and some of the show's most vocal proponents, are what give me a moment of pause before bringing it into my home.  Is this "love and tolerate everypony" thing a creation of the show, or of the fanbase?  If it is a creation of the show, then are we certain that the show's creators do not have an agenda in mind that most Christians would disagree with?  (I'm sure that most of you know what I'm talking about.)

Yes, the bible makes it clear that we are to love everybody, even our enemies actually.  I don't have a problem with that at all.  It's this "tolerate" part that I'm hung up on.  What do they mean by that, and why did that word have to be added to the "love" portion?  The word "tolerance" is tossed around today as an appeal for people with strong religious views to SHUT UP and to keep their views to themself.  Ironically this is the epitomy of INtolerance of other viewpoints, but there it is.

So can someone please provide any factual information that they have on what the show means when it says that we are to "tolerate" every body in addition to loving them?  Because it seems to me that whatever behavior we tolerate by being silent about it, we also encourage.

Thanks for your help.

(P.S.  How does the show explain the lack of boy ponies?  Are there any pony "parents" on the show?)

*snip*

It's more of a fanbase creation. They might have said that once in the show, but it's not said as often as the fans would make you think. Note, I'm speaking from kind of an outsider's viewpoint as I've kinda stopped following what the fanbase is doing since I graduated.

There are male characters and parents (though, not very many) in the show.
