Ha ha, I never looked at it that way, it's kind of like a movie about Jesus! :preach:

Picking a favorite Nolan film is as futile as picking a favorite Scorcese.

Wolf of Wall Street and The Last Temptation of Christ were abbreviated, apologies.

I personally prefer Martin, although I could see someone picking Domenica.

No Raging Bull?

Point Made. Note that his only Oscar winning film isn't even mentioned yet.

Of all those movies I think The Departed is the only one I've actually seen, lol. I thought it was pretty good.

I wouldn't expect Martin to have a big following in this crowd but I think the comparison was worthy.

Those are the worst, I wonder if Interstellar will be nominated for any awards?

Well, no. Nolan is strictly non-religious, which probably helps explain why he's always veered away from any and all religious themes in his films, despite much of the subject matter going hand in hand with it (case in point: Interstellar).

That's because The Departed is mediocre at best.

A 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, 8.5 on IMDB, and four Oscars CAN be wrong! Also, you're all misspelling the title. It's "The Depahted". Get it right.

Those are the worst, I wonder if Interstellar will be nominated for any awards?

Interstellar is going to win pretty much all of the technical awards this season. There are a handful of movies that rival it, but really, there's too much hype surrounding Nolan right now, and even if there wasn't, it's still better than anything else released this year on a technical basis. The thing I'm most excited to see in the tech department right now is sound design, and that's mostly to see whether the Academy "gets" Nolan's decision to have some of the dialogue get drowned out by the music and sound effects. It'll pick up nominations for Best Picture, Best Director (which will be Nolan's first), and maybe even Best Original Screenplay, but I'm not holding my breath for him to pick up his first Oscar win in any of these categories any time soon (though if it's any of them, it'll be Best Director). This is the first film Nolan's done that's pretty clear Oscar-bait, and it's well-executed enough that it'll get him what he wants.

I really think Interstellar deserves the Sound Design award and the Best Visual Effects, but I highly doubt it will be nominated for Best Picture or even Best Director. (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is also a frontrunner for visual effects I imagine). Also, having read the screenplay (which is surprisingly tiny by the way), I don't think it has a chance in the Best Original Screenplay department. Too much competition this year.
