I didn't see dawn of the planet of the apes,   :( but I looked good...
One of my favorites of the year, along with Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Noah.

Grand Budapest Hotel was fantastic, I need to see Boyhood. Noah was just okay.

The second act (of Noah) was weak, however atmospherically and creatively speaking I was in love with it. Boyhood is an instant classic and made me realize Ethan Hawke is a great actor.

My sister said boyhood was really good, but to me it looks kind of boring...

I wonder what his rivals will be for any awards?
I'm pretty sure that the conclusion of the Hobbit will be up there for quite a few categories.

made me realize Ethan Hawke is a great actor.
Have you never seen "Dead Poet's Society"?

Just got back from the cinema. Hobbit 3 was a bit anticlimactic and overall plotless.

I need to read the other two books of the Hobbit trilogy before I can go to the movie.

This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I don't know how they let PJ convince them to make it a 3-parter anyway.

Gotta love all the negs being thrown around recently in this thread, lol.

There is now a Hobbit feedback thread where that movie can be discussed, we should get this thread back on the original topic.

I have not actually seen Interstellar. If there's a way I can see it cheaply/free (maybe Red Box after it releases on disc) I might check it out, but based on people's comments so far I don't think I'll pay to see it in a theater.

Go see it in a theater. It's some of the best cinematography of the year, and anyone who says otherwise should not be taken seriously. It's a gorgeous film, and it really deserves to be experienced in a theater, regardless of opinions on plot.

Blah, blah, blah.

They said the same thing about Gravity, but it looked just fine on my 4" cell phone screen. You do need to be willing to spend $5 of so to get some good earbuds from Big Lots if you want to have movie theater quality sound.

Oh, yeah...sprinkle :), ;), and  ;D liberally through the above.
