zerubbabel's Temple

Is a zerubbabel's temple deck a viable deck in today's meta with the addition of dutiful priest and gifts and offerings? Joshua the high priest is already amazing, especially in the current meta, and being protected from capture, conversion, and removal from the game? yes please! and joiada son of elishab can get your gifts and offerings back! the only thing i could see Z-priests lacking (and priests in general for that matter) is negates. But overall, i think they could be pretty powerful. what does everyone else think?

I've actually played a version of this deck almost exclusively from the time Priests came out until this Nats. Most of the time I played it with house of eleazar priests to add protection from discard abilities and attempted to make a small army of annoyingly hard to kill priests. One of the main issues is speed and consistency, which Eleazar helped a lot with, but then it relies a lot on drawing Eleazar. Another issue besides negates is battle winners. Zeal for the Lord is basically the only interrupt battle winner and while it is definitely an absolutely amazing card the addition of coliseum to the game hurt it a lot. Coliseum also counters Scapegoat, one of priests only negates. Trumpet and Sword can kill Coliseum but again you have to draw it and play it without getting negated. The lack of any CBP enhancements that aren't Zeal also hurts. Back to the original premise of the deck, the protection stuff, it was definitely better in previous metas. These days (with the exception of some) most defenses don't actively try to kill all your heros but instead rely on things like shuffling/protecting souls, withdraws, end the battle, etc. In my experience at least, while the deck is awesome and I love it's concept, it just doesn't seem to perform these days.

In response to the CBWhatever problem, I think Joshua should solve a lot of those problems, and holy unto the lord is cbi, and ezra's journey is cbp. For the Coliseum problem, Trumpet blast! but, like you said, it is kinda hard to even play those with the number the priests have.

I love using Zeal and Trumpet Blast/Trumpet and Sword because if they use Coliseum then I don't have to worry about sacrificing one of my own Sites.

Jordan Interrupted+T-Blast on Joshua is pretty awesome.

Even Burning Incense is pretty strong when you have the ability to see their hand with Urim & Thummim.

While I think Tabernacle Priests are better overall (better characters, Aaron's Staff, Eli's Sound Advice and Zadok Annoints), the protection offered by Z-Temple is legit.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

Yeah, tabernacle priests are pretty awesome, especially when you can pair them with judges or red warriors.

During testing I had a priests offense that blended Z'Temple and Tabernacle priests. It's the best of both worlds. The cool thing about Dutiful Priest is that he can be whichever one you need.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

Not to mention Jaddua turns into another Joshua with Ram's Horn up. I mean, they all do, but Jaddua+Horn is reusable.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

FTFY, which means Jaddua + Ram's Horn works

What about the Arrest + Stoic combo? I thought that didn't work anymore.

It doesn't work if Moses is in play, which is why no one plays it anymore  :P  But if Stoic and Arrest aren't negated, it still works.
