I have been out of the game for a couple years (haven't played since I/J) and was wondering what the meta looks like right now. I was looking at making Tomb deck but I don't know what would be the best to pair alongside the White TGT girls. Also wanted to know what defenses are most viable, and if "The Deck" or its variants were still a viable.
-
TGT isn't as strong as it once was with the change to how ignore works. Some "the deck" variants are playable, but that deck's definition is so nebulous. Throne and Moses decks are very good right now.
-
How does ignore work now?
-
Ignore doesn't target hand so you can block from it.
-
Wahhhh??!? Is there a thread about that change somewhere?
-
To expound, it was realized that ignore's old rules didn't really work with cannot be ignored's definition, so ignore was reworked. It now has to target the characters that are ignored, and so it doesn't target ones from hand until they are already in battle. The ignore then does work in battle, so the ignoring side will be winning, but the ignored side will have initiative to play things.
EDIT: New ignore ruling comes from here (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/redemption-official-rules/new-rulings-for-the-2015-2016-redemption-season-36320/)

best for anti meta is white splash or mono silver, and philistine or syrian defense. just watch out for coliseum, and you should do good! ;)

To give some examples of meta decks:
Here (http://landofredemption.com/?p=5589) is an example of what "The Deck" looks like now (in my opinion). Isaiah and Daniel got dropped for Joshua Son of Nun and the new Moses, and the GEs consist primarily of the new "Faith" enhancements. This deck placed 1st at Nationals this year.
Here (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/national-tournament-winners/nats-2016-t2-2p-2nd-place/) is an example of what a I Samuel/Throne deck looks like. This T2 version is the only one I could find on the boards or LoR. This (http://landofredemption.com/?p=5361) article talks about the I Samuel offense as well.
Here (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/national-tournament-winners/nats-t1-2p-2nd-place/) is what a combination of the two looks like. This deck placed 2nd at Nationals.
Basically, I Samuel/Throne offenses have more speed than any other, and FBTN/Coliseum decks have more brute rescuing power than any other. Hopefully Daniel Huisinga (MinisterPolarius) posts his decklist, because it was an awesome combination of the two ;)
