Top T2 dekcs this season

Just seeing what you T2 players have won with or lost to this season T2 wise. Trying to come up with some ideas/decks to use and need to know what is winning so I know what to put in to stop those things. I posted this cuz I have not been to one single tournament this year yet.

At the tournaments I have been hosting I have seen quite a variety of type 2 decks.  No one type has been winning all the time.

On offense lots of ignores, choose the blocker, strong angels, some Garden Tomb, some ANB. I'm trying to perfect a judges deck but its still a work in progress.

On defense; some Babylonian some Assyrians, some Egyptians, some auto blocks, some orange splash and a few site decks. And of course some Gray in Multi.

One of the defenses I hate the most is the emperors defense.  There are worse defenses, but this one just irks me because emperor Vittelus plus naamans horsies gives them a three card draw plus the ability to play heavy taxes which lets them draw 2 mor cards and forces you to discard 2 cards and immediately end the battle.

Plus if you add either lying spirit or the terrifying beast you can do that five more times with twice afflicted for a total of 10 auto blocks all the while drawing 50 cards and making your opponent discard 20 cards from hand.

The only good thing about the emperors from the opponents perspective is that they have no protection fort....yet.

Defenses are so good in Type 2 that the only choice for offense is to go with pre-block ignore, choose the blocker or play first.  I played a top-tier Type 2 player who was playing a very good Teal Priests offense.  It didn't matter if he put out Joshua, Phinehas or Seraiah, he never got the chance to play Zeal, Burning Incense or other battle winner.

The top three at Nats this year will have some combination of Provisions, Jacob+RTC/OoN, ET+AoCP, Prophets+HT, FBTN, and warrior-class heroes w/2K Horses on them.  With the recent ruling on Angel's Sword, you'll see far less silver and teal.  It used to be about getting initiative, but with all the battle enders on defense you have to do something on offense other than present a hero.

I think the guy that wins T2 is going to use Caleb's Sword, Coat of Mail or I am somethingorotherthatdiscardsevilenhancements to stop his opponent's play first defense. :o

You know, I keep getting the feeling that Bryon wants us to use I Am Grace...

If people don't think it's worthwhile to use it this year, I'm pretty sure they'll change their mind by next year.

Yeah, my deck relies on HT and swords into plowshares, but I am thinking real hard about adding a few copies of I am grace as well.  especially since I can get all my important enhancements back with Micah.

who cares about play first enhancements... they can't block me anyway...

but pre-block ignore is soooo boring, I want a different strat... Judges sounded good, but looks like it's already taken...

I Am Grace is an awesome card in Type II.  It stops so many things, Two Thousand Horses, Weakness, Diseases, whatever.  Most offenses can benefit from it.

Uzzah and Trembling Demon laugh at I Am Grace.  Shoot, I'll give away my defense.  Uzzah, Mocking Soldier, Emperors Galba and Vitellius, Naaman's C&H, Gib Trick, Heavy Taxes.  So go ahead and discard one of my NC&H.  You'll just be helping me out to whittle your hand down to nothing.

Pre-block ignore?  Pfft!  Which color you going to ignore?
Choose the blocker?  I support with The Dorkness, UN and Lurking.
FBTN?  I use Holy of Holies.

Play first is the way to go.  Believe it or not, my main weakness is an old T2 standby: AoCP played first.  (Curses!  There must be a solution!  ;) )

Sounds like a teal offense just needs Altar of Burnt Offering to be able to succeed now.
May you prosper greatly!

lol I was just thinking of bulding a defense just like that.  After being manhandled by emperors the last few times out I was thinking of what I could band to emperors to get more CBN blocks.  I hadn't come across the mocking soldier part of it though.  That is brilliant.  Is he unique or generic (prays for generic)

props to you Stamp.

Toss in 5 worshipping Demons and thats 15 auto-blocks.

Ahh, but the props go higher up the T2 food chain...like near or at the top!   ;)

And yes, Mocking Soldier is generic.

You so make me want to add a few Gomer and a Belshazzar's Banquet or three to my deck, but I forbear.

In Minnesota we no longer use Wall in Type 2. Why waste a card slot!
