Deacon/TGT

Well, I was messing around with themes, and I figured I might as well try out Deacons. Being the only card that gives benefit to Deacons, I had to put The Word Spreads in. So I combined purple and blue, and with space left over I realized there was a purple and a blue TGT hero, so I put them in, too. Anyways, here's what I ended up with. It's quick, it's powerful, and I think it's viable. The saddest thing is that there are no cards in here from FoOF or later, except for TGT. :P See what you think of it so far...

Ethiopian Treasurer
John
Paramenas

Authority of Christ
Reach of Desperation
The Word Spreads

Asher
Claudia
Mary Magdalene
Nicholas of Antioch
Philip the Evangelist

Abraham's Servant to Ur
Journey to Egypt
Obedience of Noah

Preaching the Truth

The Garden Tomb (and any other obvious support cards...)

He really doesn't add anything, except a character for Phil to band to.

He draws two cards if you're losing, not much different from Parmenas.
May you prosper greatly!

I needed Paramenas for The Word Spreads. Otherwise, I wouldn't have even had him in there. Besides, I don't need any more blue characters anyway; I'm already looking to cut down.

The best use of Nic of A is to recur Meeting the Messiah. I hope one day to see Deacons as a viable, unified offense in Blue so I can mix them with Luke/John.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Imo The deck looks really boring... But it does look good if your trying to make a very small offense that might work.

My guess is that if they ever do become viable (or at least more so than they already are, Isildur), it would be in Purple, as Purple has The Word Spreads. Blue does have half of the Deacon characters, but most of the Deacons stink and need reprinting anyway.

If we're going to reprint, it seems easier to reprint The Word Spreads into Blue than reprint half the Deacons into Purple. The reason I think Blue is that Nicholas of Antioch probably won't be reprinted, and he's the best Deacon by far.

Easier still, they could reprint The Word Spreads into blue/purple and not have to change any of the Deacon's brigades.

Or they could make a blue deacon that can use convert or NT enhancements regardless of brigade. ;D

Perhaps blue is the better choice. Why don't they get going already? :P

A Stephen re-print is really needed, imo.  :)

I would add Preaching the Truth, and maybe consider Faith in our High Priest.
